Debian jessie repo changes (antiX-16 users)

This is for antiX-16 users.
Due to changes made in upstream Debian, a new apt-antix deb will arrive shortly.
You should be prompted to accept new changes or not.
The default is N(o). You should choose Y(yes) to get the new ones.

debian.list should now look like this

# Debian Stable. Default for antiX-16.
# Use for maximum stability INSTEAD of the ‘rolling’ TESTING release concept.
#NEW
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-free

debian-stable-updates.list

# Debian Jessie Updates
deb http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free

Several app upgrades coming

I have repackaged several antiX applications.
Most are due to new and improved translations (many thanks to all our translators).
eudev is a bugfix.

Upgrades should run smoothly, if prompted about desktop-session.conf, simply press Enter to keep your current version.

antiX-17.2 point release should be available early October.

non free debs separated from main in antiX repos

As a result of a request from one of our users, we have moved non free packages out of the antiX main folder to its own nonfree one. The new nonfree section applies to antiX stretch, testing and sid repos.

As you can see in the stretch nonfree repo antiX stretch/nonfree debs this includes a few packages, but for testing and sid only adobe-flashplugin.

Users should change their /etc/apt/sources.d/antix.list if you want to upgrade non-free debs to this:

# Use with Debian Stable/stretch repositories. Set as default for antiX-17. Note new repos
deb http://repo.antixlinux.com/stretch stretch main nosystemd nonfree

# Use with Debian Testing repositories.
#deb http://repo.antixlinux.com/testing testing main nosystemd nonfree

# Use with Debian Sid repositories.
#deb http://repo.antixlinux.com/stretch stretch main nosystemd nonfree

Of course, if you want to be clean/libre than do not use nonfree nor non-free in debian.list in the repo lists.

L1TF / Foreshadow patched kernels available

Users are advised to upgrade their kernels to the latest now available in the antiX repos.

These versions are now available for both 32 (486 and 686-pae) and 64 bit architecture
for all flavours.

4.18.7 stretch, testing, sid
4.9.126 stretch, testing, sid
4.4.155 jessie (antiX-16)

lumina-desktop added to repos

For those that want to try it out, you need to add dev to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/antix.list like this

<code>deb http://repo.antixlinux.com/stretch stretch main nosystemd dev</code>

Let us know how it goes by posting in the forums.
