I’ve had this issue with both antiX-19 64-bit and antiX-17 64-bit. I can’t see the login entry fields when I have two monitors.
I managed to setup my two monitors to work with antiX and my IceWM windows manager config files. I used arandr and saved the settings and added it to the IceWM startup config file. But I can’t figure out how to get Slim to show the login entry box in a place where I can see it.
At one point I could see the sign in box all the way to the right of one of the screens but I could only see a sliver of the entry box. In my current setup I can not see the sign in entry box at all. I can type my username and password blindly and hit enter and I am logged in.
I figured out that I could set auto login and bypass the sign in entry box on the Slim display manager screen. But I would prefer to see my login/sign in entry fields and type in my username and password.
I have another antiX box that I am using to test the latest “testing” version of antiX-19 32-bit. On that box the sign in fields are in the upper left of the screen. How do I make that happen? The standard antiX setup has Slim showing the entry fields in the center of the screen. This is apparently what is causing the trouble when I have two monitors.
I looked around in the configuration files but I cannot figure out where this setting may be to place the sign in fields in the upper left corner, or in the center, or wherever I want. Can someone point me in the right direction for this setting? Is it in the slim.conf file and I am missing it?
Thanks for any tips you can share. My inxi -Fxz follows.

Hello,
I installed nestopia (a Super Nintendo emulator) on Antix 19.3.
When I load a game I can hear the sound, so I know it’s working, however the window remains blank (all black).
apt-cache show nestopia
tells me:
Nestopia requires OpenGL 3.2 or later.
glxinfo | grep “OpenGL version”
OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 18.3.6
This is were I got stuck. Can anyone give me advice on how to proceed to get nestopia graphics working properly? I wouldn’t know where to begin upgrading the OpenGL version. Searching the repositories didn’t yield any obvious answers.
Thanks

Sorry Murdock2525, it does not show only bullseye.
to anticapitalista: “Is it bullseye or sid? Did you upgrade from buster?”
What I installed was: antiX-19.3-runit_x64-full.iso
And as can be seen from my repositories I did change to testing NOT sid:

It seems like installing audacity damaged the system on my laptop with AntiX 19 Base, 64 Bit.
Synaptic is no longer working, no files can be installed. I have tried to change repos with repo manager, it doesn’t seem to work.
Says that outdata file is full for the repos.
I choose full uninstall of audacity, but the dependencies stayed, only audacity uninstalled.
Lucky it was the laptop and not my desktop which is used for work, that would have been quite a disaster!
Any suggestions on how to get the system properly working again, or do I have to reinstall Antix Base ?

I am trying to make a recording by external microphone on a desktop with antiX 17 Base, 64_bit system.
The microphone is connected to the microphone jack, old Philips microphone.
Traverso seems to be working but there is no sound recorded.
(I also have a laptop, with AntiX 19 Base 64 bit, which I believe has built in microphone, but Traverso is not in AntiX 19 repos, nor can I find any other suitable program for recording from internal microphone – preferably not command line but something easy to use.)
Whichever solution will do, on desktop with AntiX 17 or laptop with AntiX 19, but the recording needs to be done.

Dear skidoo,
I have installed Antix in be_French.
Please see my screenshot (be_french menu.jpg). You will see the general menu in French and you will notice that corrections made in Transifex are not yet updated in Antix.
Nearly all my programs are in English or not well translated in French (only one or two sentences translated in the menu).
Please find info details of my laptop.

On my second screenshot (be_fr ROXTerminal in English.jpg), you will see my Terminal. All is in English. Why in English, this a French installation?
Thank you for your support.
Best regards,

@Koo, the server is OK here
Hit:9 https://mirrors.evowise.com/mxlinux-packages/antix/testing testing InRelease
There is almost certainly an error in your /etc/apt/sources.list.d/anitix.list
has crept in.
Probably when using the repo-manager, which is not yet working properly.
The line in antix.list file must look exactly like this.

Hello,
I have more and more often the problem when I want to start Antix 19.3 Full installed on a USB stick. I have to shut down the computer. I took 2 pictures because I can’t get into Antix to give a copy of the dmesg file.
What can I do to avoid this problem at startup?

No, but the further discussion does.
For your case, edit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/antix.list file manually so that you remove the double “//” for a single “/”, so it looks like this:
https://mirrors.evowise.com/mxlinux-packages/antix/testing testing nosystemd main nonfree
Try that a few times already and again this morning still not working even after using repo manager.
I’m about to stop testing alpha anyway as the motherboard is going back for warranty. Desktop
Still have it on my T430 but not really the same.
And yes it does work with this round of new hardware, if you prepared to put some work into it. But new models are just around the corner.

We cannot change antiX repos to bullseye since none of the mirrors have the bullseye repo yet (and won’t have until after the final Debian freeze).
Thanks for letting us know. I was exploring repo.antixlinux.com and saw the bullseye folder, so I made assumptions before checking the other mirrors.
repo-manager is not working correctly in a1 (not a surprise, it is an alpha).
I have proposed a fix in the gitlab project, tested it and I think it works.
Is this related to repo testing not working ? The repository ‘https://mirrors.evowise.com/mxlinux-packages/antix/ testing Release’ does not have a Release file.

Offtopic here, but looking at your inxi for antix21a saw this under Repos:Active apt repos in: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/antix.list
1: deb https: //mirrors.evowise.com/mxlinux-packages/antix// testing main nosystemd nonfree
The line with the double slash between antix an testing will certainly not work. The question is, how did you get there ?
