        What changes in the alpha are affecting the video and sound?

        (Parenthetically, the major benefits of add-ons like Pulseaudio or Pipewire over alsa alone for a simple end user of audio-video was the ease of switching sources and sinks and connecting to Bluetooth. But, I am an ignoramus about this, amongst many other things…)

            @robin, thanks for your info,
            I have a different setup software wise, Nvidia card but at present running noveau as driver,
            Noveau is still not as good as the Nvidia drivers for my GK208B [GeForce GT 710]card but
            much improved. To further test I will soon need to do an install and setup NVidia propriety driver.
            Bothersome on this modernized machine. Will have to add a dedicated drive and pull the PCI NVME
            adapter.

            Using 23 live as daily driver. Higher memory usage than older versions, no sign of memory leaks.
            Stable, excellent performance.

            The increase in memory usage after start seems to be driven by kernel processes, noticeabe is networking,
            negotiation with router, time updates. Connman logging disabled, recommend as default.
            Logfiles in desktop session getting quite large, contain more info than I am comfortable with.
            Working on a solution.

            Latest libreoffice is not yet available from repos. Still in unstable so should be available soon.
            Had update issue with vivaldi, outdated key. Solution install with a deb directly downloaded from
            vivaldi site.

            LibreWolf and Ungoogled Chromium run fine as expected.
            Now using latest ungoogled, Version 110.0.5481.100 which has been available since 17.02.2023.

            Printers not yet setup, hope a brother device will work without need for sysd component.
            An Epson Multi device prints fine, Scanning not yet, sane says supported so should work in the
            end. Samsung laser will need a PPD.

            Sound fine, no bluetooth devices though. My Koss Headphones are wired.

            Enjoying the antiX experience, have to repeat, for an alpha release extremely impressive.
            Many thanks to all involved.

                  So I tried installing the drivers that worked for me in linux mint, but APT can’t find them.

                  Also, here is the output that came from inxi -Fxz:

                      I removed rtl8821ce-dkms and exfat-dkms with a single command – sudo apt purge rtl8821ce-dkms exfat-dkms.
                      I was then able to install our 6.1.10 kernel and I am using it now – problem solved!

                        I’ve installed antiX on several older Macs with barely no problem, including an iMac from around 2005. The last version I used was maybe antiX 19, but I see no reason it shouldn’t work with the most current version, #22. One thing I found was that if you don’t like the startup chime of the Mac, it’s best to mute it before you install anything else, that issue caused me a lot pf problems actually. As far as I recall, there was a little twiddling with the wifi adapter on a few occasions, but I was able to sort it out – the necessary driver was present. Most peripherals work out of the box, though I do have some issues with my Bluetooth mouse. Nothing worse than installing on a regular PC, all in all. I do recommend checking out a live USB before installing. I just used all the default options on the install, no problems as far as I can recall.

                                May I politely reaquest that some posters read up what a memory leak is.
                                After stabilizing I see no change in used memory over 80 plus hours, same findings come from other forum members.

                                This is NOT a slight on anticapitalista who posted after a short test.

                                I have experienced real memory leak from gogle browser, not UngoogledChromium. Result was system becoming sluggisg then completely unusable.

                                Present situation is slightly more memory usage in a stable highly responsive system.

                                Fact is, why memory usage initialy increases is at present not fully understood. Some is due logfiles but that does not completely explain the
                                increase.

                                Back to connman:

                                Online check can be turned off in /etc/connman/main.conf
                                [General]
                                EnableOnlineCheck=false

                                If a laptop is used following setting is useful.
                                [General]
                                PreferredTechnologies=ethernet,wifi

                                /var/lib/connman/settings
                                [Bluetooth]
                                Enable=false #Will test set to manual or maybe true.
                                Tethering=false
                                Tethering.Freq=2412

                                [global]
                                OfflineMode=false
                                TimeUpdates=false # set to false, it is true in the alpha. Maybe 22 also, not yet checked.
                                TimezoneUpdates=false # set to false as NTP is running

                                Will try and find time to remove NTP and check if connman can completely take over time updates
                                on the test system.

                                For those having trouble connecting bluetooth devices following from https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/ConnMan
                                may be of interest.

                                Warning: connman grabs rfkill events. It is most likely impossible to use rfkill or bluetoothctl to (un)block
                                devices, yet hardware keys may still work.

                                Always use connmanctl enable|disable

                                Now I know more about headphone users fighting with windmills.

                                  I have to decrypt the encrypted drive,

                                  Try this with an unencrypted system first, e.g. from a Live USB stick.

                                  The encryption easily might cause wakeup fail, probably you need some additional strategic steps to make it work. Search for instructions about luksSuspend and luksResume commands which probably need to get executed before suspending or hibernating and during wakeup process of an encrypted system. Sorry, I don’t know anything about this, since I don’t run encryption.

                                  Which “specific way of management” does it make use of?
                                  Is this in reference to init system related things?

                                  antiX uses by default sysVinit in all versions up to 22 (in case you didn’t install from the separately provided runit-ISOs). On antiX 23 runit is the default, which needs different methods of service management I don’t know myself by now.

                                  Since you get sensible results from the sudo sercice -status-all command you are running sysVinit obviously, (on antiX 23 the service command will come up with lots of warnings instead: „warning: … unable to open … file does not exist”).

                                  Some examples how to make use of service command on antiX running with sysVinit:

                                  sudo service cups status
                                  sudo service cups stop
                                  sudo service cups start

                                  sudo service bluetooth status
                                  (start, stop, restart, status, etc. ...)

                                  The commands accepted may vary among different services. The minimum provided is start and stop, which are always present, as you can learn from man service.

                                  Same procedure with e.g. acpid, saned, smartmontools, smbd, timidity, etc. …

                                  There is an entry in antiX control center, section „System”, named „Chose Startup Services” (wording might not match precisely, I always have to retranslate back to English) where you can simply check boxes to enable/disable and start/stop services in. It reads in its headline when opened: „SysV Runlevel Config”.

                                  Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.
