Although I do not have a solution to this issue or even an explanation, my experience with bluetooth speaker supporting bluetooth version 5.0 connection to antiX 22, kernel 5.10.142 is as follows:
      – When pairing the glyphs (icons) on the right side of the divice displaying in Bluetooth manager first appear and then disappear after about two second. Device appears to be paired though successfully. The missing glyphs in the snapshot provided by BobC is missing these connection glyphs. Have they appear when pairing?
      – When connecting the device (I use right mouse click) the above mentioned glyphs appear and the bluetooth speaker sounds ‘connected’ tone.
Some bluetooth devices I found difficult to connect to antiX but they are mostly supporting bluetooth version lower than 5.0.
I would find this interesting to determine the cause of this (as reported in this thread) issue and it appears to me that all pieces of software infrastructure are in place (Blueman, Bluetooth manager, Pulse Audio). If this device is not recognized as audio device, what kernel is in this antiX used? And twhich bluetooth version does this device support?
The missing glyphs (Icons) on the right in Bluetooth manager means to me that no properties of device have been determined.

Caprea, the different icons are likely because we must not be using the same icon set, so no big deal, there.

But Miscellaneous is definitely wrong. Slackel showed it as audio, but I didn’t get sound. Your Headset looks correct. But where do those values come from and what configuration files store them?

I removed deb.multimedia from my repo list and ran an update. I then reinstalled all the packages for bluetooth and pulseaudio. I’ve been trying to get this headset to work on Linux for 3 years now. It works real well with the phone and Windows.

I have tried the suggestions xecure gave in https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/i-cant-get-any-bluetooth-device-to-pair-with-my-pc/#post-49552 and I can get the headset to pair, but I notice that the bluetooth manager does not think its an audio device, and the pulse audio volume control doesn’t see it at all.

If anyone else has gotten this to work, could you please provide a list of what you installed and what needed to be configured? This machine was originally installed as antiX 21 64 bit full, and is up to date with the 4.9 kernel, but I didn’t have any better luck with antiX 22 64 bit full with the 5.10 kernel, and it didn’t work with MX 21 Fluxbox, either.

I spent another day trying, and thus far it has only worked with Win/10 and my android phone. It almost works with Slackel, but that OS can’t connect to the Internet after its installed. I have been avoiding trying Debian and Ubuntu due to their systemd.

              Hi all
I have an old Dell laptop that I use to distro hop. I tend to stick with the same distro for around a year or more.
I’ve tried, but failed, to install Antix and MX Linux (not at the same time).
In both cases, the installation fails. It starts to format the hard drive and stops at 12% with the message in this title.
For now, I’m using Xubuntu, although I’d really like to try Antix, which I’ve used in the past.

inxi -Fxzd gives me the following:

Got in; needed to add safe to my boot entry (don’t have to do that with xanmod1, Liquorix, or 5.18 kernel, but it does “work” with that “help”.

Now I remember why I got rid of the other 5.10 kernels – they all seem to experience similar “issues” on this system. Yes, I can “coax” them into working; on the other hand, other kernels work without any “special treatment”. That said, I’m here with 5.10.153:

Back to my trusty older Dell Inspiron 5558 laptop. I no longer have any 5.10 kernels here, so if I need to test any of them, I’ll need to pull one back in.
Since there “appears” to be a few problems with the most recently updated 5.10 kernel, I’ll wait until the next update to test 5.10 again.

Here with the most recent kernel I have installed:

                      pinxi -b

There is a list of all the standard keys, and the calculator key is one of them. This is from: /usr/include/X11/XF86keysym.h

                        /*
                         * XFree86 vendor specific keysyms.

                         *
                         * X.Org will not be adding to the XF86 set of keysyms, though they have
                         * been adopted and are considered a "standard" part of X keysym definitions.
                         * XFree86 never properly commented these keysyms, so we have done our

Just came in. Just got user name, lmsensors, and sudo done. Still have to fix touchpad. No touch clicks allowed yet. Had to install inxi.

                          $ inxi -zv7

What is your plan with the NUC? Home theater PC? Seems like it would be a good form factor to attach to a large TV with Kodi or other media software.

I already did that with a Dell 755 Tower running MX 21 Fluxbox . I use my bookmarks and password login for my roku accounts online.
That Dell was free from city hall when they upgraded their servers. Had to upgrade Windows so the Dell was going to the dumpster.
I have the ancient nvidia card working on that box with the nvidia 390 driver. So watching movies is a breeze on that old server.
I watched Hell or High water

Right now. Just concentrating on getting it to display and boot something on it. See what works and what does not. See if efi partition is gone.
Stuff like that. Check bluetooth and stuff. AntiX for sure though. Kodi not needed since wife pays for roku account. External hard drive will be 500 GB.
To makeup for the small ssd. I won’t need it to automount though. Pretty simple stuff at first. Not sure yet what hunt I will sic that dog on. Land line for right now.
Could become wireless and moved to the shop later. Never played with NUC before. Virgin Territory.

Sorry I am hijacking your thread Brian. Bad admin !!!!!!!

Bedtime now. Knowing me. I won’t lose any sleep over it.

                            Edit. To stay on point

How to Search for AntiX solutions to your problems

Good afternoon wise folks of the forum.
Since installing or running live ANY Distro, I found that I can’t drag and drop with my touchpad.
In MX Linux I tried the option to use the other “thingy” for a touchpad ??driver??
                              That didn’t work.

Here in AntiX, I’m lost not even a clue where I could start looking for making changes. And as keyboard shortcuts don’t work either, I’m forced to used dragging the mouse way more.
A little side topic, in MX I could choose a theme with THICK borders, to make changing windows easier. Didn’t find it here either, that’s something I really seem to need as I can’t find the spot with a USB mouse either.

For the quick info, I found that
                              sudo inxi -zv7
is getting blocked, -b or normal -zv7 don’t get blocked in THIS part of the forum. Normal -zv7 didn’t work in the introduction part of it.

                              inxi -zv7

you could install just for testing a 5.19.0-0.deb11.2…(signed)

Yes! antiX is now running ‘5.19.0-0.deb11.2-amd64 x86_64’ -kernel and I got instantly working bluetooth and battery status after reboot.

Only the sound is missing from internal soundcard “Test failed, can’t connect to device”. But I’ll need to try Pulse and install Jack to get low latency trough usb-interface, which did work with Alsa.

                                Thanks for the help!

And the program works when I select it as the default text editor.

Well, then try to open a default .txt file with it 🙂 Good luck! For me it comes up with an error message:

                                  Error opening file ./bluetooth.txt
                                                               [ OK ]

So it looks like a text editor, displaying even nice lined paper for writing on, but must get excluded anyway.

Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.
