Frustrating fpr others too..
Another Version worked
pc information will not give you any clues on what and where the actual bug is.
Really useful. I often have devices on my table where the knowledge is essential to getting
WIFI, Bluetooth, Sound working. Difference, I can read out what info I need, not beg for it…The problem is that many devices need non free software blobs or special settings to work.
antiX to blame,
no, manufacturers.MX better, mmmm I would say in some ways different, it is based on Debian/antiX actualy but still uses or shims
(a workaround) systemD.
If MX fits your needs better go for it.In stubborn cases try a different kernel, or the present Beta antiX 23, device support is way better due driver integration,
in the kernel, just make sure you have all non free drivers needed installed.
If that does not help buy a decently supported wifi stick or change a card rather than fighting constantly changing
issues. Often new ones, a lot changes in dew versions :-).
Changing the Wifi card may also bring a huge performance boost for some devices.April 1, 2023 at 11:08 am #103815Memberravacrafts
I guess you didn’t know that the antiX developers are also a lot of the MX developers.
Good luck over there.
i knew it from the start, which makes me puzzled..why devs chose to have snapd support (systemd) on MX and refused to employ the same on Antix? if the same given team collaborates both projects, why excel one system and diminish the other? there must be a reason for just that…..installed MX21 , no dropping connman wifi so far, wifi performs great and there is no hassle with critical cmst errors, snapd installed without errors, conky even fancier that text mode on antix, youtube, iptv just flies….but yet bluetooth still sucks…

I really do know what it’s like to be frustrated.
Did you read this thread from the beginning? It might be good reading if you want bluetooth to work. Too bad you didn’t find it sooner, before you decided antiX was the problem. Who knows, maybe it could be part of your problem, but you won’t get any help by treating the people here badly.
If you read it, you would know that the 4.9 kernel won’t work, or at least it had no chance on my machines.
You need to lose the anger. Edit your posts above to be reasonable or you will be gone.
Try to remember that you didn’t pay anyone here to help you. We are all here helping each other for free and for fun making things work.

no bluetooth, faulty wifi, cannot detect webcam
Depends completely on whether hardware manufacturers care for providing linux drivers the same quality as they do for windows drivers… Simply use hardware for which full linux support is provided by the manufacturer and it will work out of the box.
faulty wifi
As said, it depends on your hardware manufacturer. I have never seen wifi fail on antiX on my devices, they connect the minute antiX boots up.
Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.

hi there, antix folks!
well, what a pain it actually is to get bluetooth working and playing audio on airpods/speakers , i don’t know who had developed blueman aimed to transfer files? who ever uses bluetooth nowadays to send and receive files? Will it more user oriented to have blueman or whatever aimed to operate with audio devices? Antix sucks so far, no bluetooth, faulty wifi, cannot detect webcam….it does not seem to be user friendly at all, sorryMarch 30, 2023 at 10:46 pm #103704In reply to: What are you “here” with today?

23 Beta boots fine out of the box on this old as the rocks 64bit single core device, 2 GB RAM, nouveau graphics driver. No issues, literally everything works without need of manually configuring. Even suspend and resume works without issues. Have booted immediately into modern 6.1 kernel, will recheck with legacy kernel and report only if issues show up.

To give an idea of the work involved in these things, here’s the inxi-audio.txt doc I made during this process as I realized how much information I was collecting just to get a basic start on the issue. While updating it I found more resources, which let me add to pinxi another JACK audio helper too, which actually was released in stable form very recently, new-session-manager and it’s daemon nsmd.
https://github.com/smxi/inxi/raw/inxi-perl/docs/inxi-audio.txt
Note this is just for the new stuff, the rest is the same logic that Graphics, Network, Bluetooth Devices reports use so that’s not really specific to audio.
These doc files vary massively in quality, since they take a lot of time to make clean and organized, so it’s only in this type of case where I just made it all at once from research I just did that there’s any hope of it being usable and readable, but this one I figured might as well make it nice since it’s all so fresh in my head.
This isn’t all the research required, but it is a fair snippet of it.
Most of the changes you’ll see in Audio sound system report are with JACK, PipeWire, Pulseaudio, and more important, helper tools like pipewire-alsa, pipewire-jack, pipewire-pulse, etc.
