I installed antix on an old dell laptop and was able to set it up exactly as I wanted to. I like conky as I have another newer laptop running MX.
Conky had been running well but disappeared` after I linked it to a secondary screen. I have trawled through the net trying to find a fix but failed to resolve the issue so I decided I would install synaptic, uninstall conky then re install it. (conky-all)The current situation is that I can only display conky by running it as root. It is not where I want it to be and it doesn’t look the way I want it to. It looks like I will have to start again from scratch.
If it is of any use I have the MX conky config files in my Mega Cloud folder.
I would greatly appreciate some advice as to how to go about cleaning up the mess I have created and setting up conky anew.

I’m having difficulty keeping track of the mouse pointer on the screen, because it’s so TINY. I just now measured it while set at its maximum size, and it’s only 3/16″ tall on my screen.
I have the impression that the pointer routines were developed on machines using a 800×600 display, or maybe even 480×360; got defined using specified absolute values of pixels – and, never changed after that.
I’m running a dual-boot setup on a Dell Precision M6300 laptop, with both Antix v21.4, & Win10 pro. Honestly, this mouse issue always makes it feel like a small relief when I switch back to Windows, despite all the shortcomings of Windows. (I can SEE again!)
This machine has a native resolution of 1920×1200, and I’ve already scaled it down to 1440×900.
I really don’t want to reduce the display any further than I’ve already done.Is there any solution to this TINY pointer problem, other than rescaling the display; i.e., a solution which actually increases the pointer size?

I’m having a problem installing the Nvidia driver.
Control Centre / Drivers / Nvidia Driver Installer calls up Terminal for its routine. There, it says it’s using su, then asks me for the Root password. BUT, the AntiX 21.4 installation routines didn’t include setting a Root password. I’ve tried entering my user password, and tried entering both “Root” & “root”. None of those works.

Interresting thing is: There is no issue with the network connection, eth1 is WLAN, and it connects fast and fine and the connection is most of the time rock stable. Nevertheless, I believe this unnecessary constant background activity takes some system load, which could be used in a better way…
Anybody around who knows what this is, where originates it, and how to stop it?
Or is this behaviour as designed, intended and needed and correct behaviour?Didn’t find much useful on it searching the forum and the web.
As said before, there is (and was never) no issue with using the eth1 wlan connection, it works fine always, except for these strange log entries.Recent System info:

Topic: “on-screen” keyboard
Brand new AntiX user but have some experience with Linux Mint on desktop systems.
Short version: I installed AntiX on a Nuvision Windows tablet. Works fine using a USB hub and external KB along with wired ethernet. Even the touch screen seems to work.
However, does anyone know of what I’m calling an “on-screen” or virtual keyboard program since I won’t normally be attaching a physical keyboard to the device when being used?
Long version: Successfully installed AntiX on a Nuvision Solo 10 Draw, model TM101W610L tablet with 2GB RAM and 32 GB eMMC drive. Decent 1600×1200 (actually might be 1920×1200) display using Intel HD graphics. Intel Atom X5-Z8300 CPU. Looking for an “on-screen” or virtual Keyboard program as the tablet will normally not be used with a physical KB during normal use.
I can change or use a different desktop environment if it helps but remember working with 2GB RAM so prefer nothing requiring heavy lifting. 🙂
PS: Have not tried using wi-Fi or Bluetooth yet.
