I wondered how to check the status of my services, and got this:

This confused me (more than usual) for some time, but, eventually, I noticed the /etc/service folder was full of symlinks which seemed to be important
to runit. However, it had none for rsyslog and dhclient. Holding trembling thumbs, I created the links in /etc/service.
          sudo ln -s /etc/sv/rsyslog rsyslog
          sudo ln -s /etc/sv/dhclient /etc/service/dhclient

After a reboot (OK, it’s now a day later) rsyslog and dhclient seem to be running, logs are being updated, and /etc/resolv.conf
is working fine with a suitable nameserver.

Note to moderator: The title of this thread should be WLAN/Bluetooth Card Continual Disconnects Block Function.

The main error message with Bluetooth blacklisted and the bluez package removed is USB device connecting and disconnecting. No more opcode errors.

            If possible, please change.

            Thanks.

                Hey Folks,

Sorry, don’t mean to necrobump, but I just want to report that I am also getting this error.

Thanks, that’s true, since I started from antix-core it’s closer to antiX than MX, only difference is the MX tools included, not all, but the most used. 🙂
I like to use connman because has a dhcp built-in and can help to connect Bluetooth as well.

Pin Linux OS (MX Linux 21 Spin). A light version of MX Linux LXDE. This is not a new Distro it’s just an MX Linux 21 spin using LXDE. This system is based on antiX-core using MX Linux repository, come with minimal installed, so you can add any app from Debian and MX repositories.

The base version its only the base, only essential to boot up the system with graphic interface. Kernel 5.14

The base for old machines its the same base but with more old drivers and kernel 4.9

The full version its like a ready to go system already customised.

                    Support only 64 bits (x86_64, amd64).
No support for Printer, Samba, or Bluetooth. But you can install them if you need them easily.

                    For printers:
                    sudo apt install cups

                    For Bluetooth:
                    sudo apt install blueman

                    For Samba sharing:
                    sudo apt install samba

Recommended for old machines, either laptops or desktops. Nevertheless, if you have a modern machine the system will fly blazing fast, good for games, for example.

Still in the testing stage, so feel free to report any problem, I’ll be happy to help and sort out any case when is possible.

I think you need to edit ~/.asoundrc in your home to add the bluealsa.
See the Configuration instructions in the bluez-alsa gitlab page.

I didn’t test it myself, so I am not sure how it works.

About using it as a service, the config says to be launched as root, so probably creating a simple /etc/sv/bluealsa/run script with simple instructions to start dbus and bluetooth services, and then exec the bluealsa executable should be enough. But before we go to this we need to know that bluealsa works properly.

To get bluez to talk to alsa (and vice-versa) you need a package named bluealsa

I have been trying to play with Bluealsa, having installed from the main repo, to make it work so I do not need pulseaudio. Although it appears to work, connecting to bluetooth headset, but still far from the end and I am rather confused:
                        – Connection appears to be accomplished, however sound still coming out of speakers. How to direct sound to bluetooth headset in absence of pulseaudio.
                        – Bluealsa started through terminal appears to keep the terminal window for the duration of bluealsa running – main dispatching loop. Do we need a (runit) service so it is transparent and showing in service list in the Control Center?

                        Any advice will be appreciated…

                          For runit, 4 packages will get removed (system-config-printer, runit-services-core-antix, runit-services-base-antix and runit-services-full-antix)

Did you actually mean to remove system-config-printer?
I have upgraded my antiX 21 Runit and this upgrade did not remove it… It did remove the three runit-services-* though.
The entire kaboodle did a variety of upgrades, including bluetooth set. I did not see anything in need to reconfigure among runit services. Nothing out of ordinary it seems, so is there anything in particular to pay attention to?

My brief testing after the entire upgrade:
All seems to work as expected (as before). This means what worked before seems to work now, including printing – tested on two network connected printers (HP Color Laser Jet 4550 and Xerox Phaser 3635MFP).
No adverse affect noticed so far. JWM 2.40 appers to work fine, as before.
Whatever did not work before continues so after upgrade, which is specifically issue connecting bluetooth to headset, in spite of bluetooth set upgrade, but I do not think it is antiX related issue in this case.
Testing performance (memory footprint in particular) still ahead of my testing.

Though we have a few runit issues remaining, I can happily report that overall it works well, and at least in my use cases, it uses less resources than my other sysvinit build on my system.

Here’s my recently updated configuration (differences, changed from HARD disk to solid state drive (SSD) and different partition order):

As I understand BlueAlsa is available in the current antiX/Bullseye repositories. BlueAlsa has been developed for Alsa direct support of sound through Bluetooth, for those who want to avoid high level sound infrastructure such as Pulseaudio or PipeWire and stick to Alsa as sound server.
I have installed BlueAlsa on antiX 21 Runit, particularly that I have problems with Pulseaudio anyway, so why not go for a better solution that became available…
In the PipeWire thread Xecure provided a detailed procedure on PipeWire implementation and indicated plan to also work on BlueAlsa, if I understood correctly. To me both still remain to experiment with as I have no experience in any of these.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated…
                                Thanks and Regards…

Since one must come first of all on it to offer helping users a rfkill output WITH locked
hardware switch… That makes me shake my head.

                                  lsmod
will, I assume, show you the modules iwlegacy and iwl4965.
                                  Lock both modules with
echo "blacklist iwlegacy" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist_iwlegacy.conf
                                  and
                                  echo "blacklist iwl4965" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist_iwl4965.conf

                                  restart OR unload the modules
                                  sudo modprobe -rfv iwlegacy iwl4965
                                  ===========================================
                                  Load the module
                                  sudo modprobe iwlegacy

and test. If you don’t succeed, unload it again and do the same with the other module.
Remove the “good” module from the block list.
                                  ===========================================
regarding bluetooth you could try loading the modules with the corresponding options
You can query these options e.g. with
                                  modinfo iwlegacy | grep parm

so I can imagine to load the module right away with the right options
                                  sudo modprobe -v iwlegacy bt_coex_active=1

is that successful, then make it permanent in /etc/modprobe.d/iwlegacy_options.conf with the entry:
                                  options iwlegacy bt_coex_active=1
