Dear all,
I have two (other…) answers please. And I hope you’ll be able to help me:
– first, it appears that the Bluetooth service of my netbook works, but there is no GUI / no applet: what package could you advise me (blueman?) please ? With USB, the connexion works: mount android phone via mtp.
– then, with another computer running Mint, I also appreciate to use my phone (Android 7.0) as a modem (with USB): I would like to do the same with antiX, but I don’t know how to do that please. Finally, thank you.
Best regards,

Thank you. I have directly copied the first users’ files to the second: perfect.
Normally, I should probably create a new topic for my next questions, but I don’t think you’ll mind if I continue here (it’s about smartphone/network):
– first, it appears that the Bluetooth service works, but there is no GUI / no applet : what could you advise me (blueman?) please ? With USB, it works: mount android phone via mtp.
– finally, with another computer running Mint, I also appreciate to use my phone (Android 7.0) as a modem (with USB): I would like to do the same with antiX, but I don’t know how to do that please. As far as the login screen is concerned, some distributions use LightDM (it seems to me relatively light): I could try maybe, in this case I will write here the result.
Thank you !
(once again, you’ve done a great job with antiX)

Managed to recreate the bug.
Started blueman-applet from terminal, clicked “Send file to device”, selected a .jpg image, and tried to send it, but it froze up.I’ve included a screenshot of the blueman window. Usually, the blue progress bar at the bottom fills all the way up and then disappears, however in my case, it fills all the way and then freezes. The window is still responding, and I can still select my device and click “OK”, but then a “Bluetooth Transfer” window pops up and forever shows the progress at 0%. My phone never indicates an attempted connection.
As I said before, rebooting the machine temporarily solves this problem, so I have concluded that the issue is not with my phone.

Post a
inxi -Fxxreport and start blueman from terminal and look for any error messages when it fails on you. Also when it fails.
dmesg | tailmight spit out something useful also. Only thing I use bluetooth for is my external bluetooth skull candy speaker. It requires me to install pulse audio to pair with it.

February 11, 2018 at 12:31 pm #6463Topic: Weird blueman bluetooth bug
in forum SoftwareAnonymous
So I have antiX-17 installed on a Dell Latitude D430 (64-bit, 1.333ghz, 2gb RAM, for those interested). I’ve installed “blueman” from the antiX “Package Installer”, and reinstalled with Synaptic, but it still isn’t working quite right.
Here’s the problem:
Sometimes blueman works properly, pairing, connecting, and transferring files to all my devices. Sometimes blueman lists my paired devices, but freezes when attempting to transfer files (the program is still responding, and I can close it without “AppKiller”; it just isn’t sending any files). Sometimes blueman does not list ANY of my paired devices, and acts as if my internal bluetooth chip is non-existent.
Usually, the program runs fine when I start up my computer fresh. Then, after it’s been running for some time, or has been suspended once or twice, the above problem occurs. I have had mixed success when disabling bluetooth, then exiting blueman, then restarting blueman and re-enabling bluetooth. However, it is not uncommon for me to have to reboot the entire system in order to regain functionality.
I have also noticed this problem in MX Linux, but not in Sparky Linux, or Ubuntu-based Linux distros. My wireless device is “Dell Computer Corp. Wireless 360 Bluetooth”. I suspect a driver issue, but I am not sure.
If anyone else has any ideas or is experiencing a similar problem, feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
I installed AntiX-17 on a not very powerful net-book and it came back to live ! A good surprise, many thanks.
I got some trouble to get it working with a Belkin bluetooth dongle, but with the help of the Debian Wiki I succeeded to connect it with a radio receiver.January 13, 2018 at 9:27 am #5149In reply to: Post your ps_mem.py stats

Yes, I agree it got corrupted somehow, and the reinstall fixed it. Luckily I’m copying all my tweaks to a subdirectory off my home directory so they are easy to reimplement after a reinstall. I turned off slim and bluetooth in services and reduced getty sessions to 2. Down to 84.8 mb even with my big 33 mb xorg. Most distros would require double or triple that for this…
I found out that the xorg memory and ability to suspend/resume are kernel version dependent. I’m trying them all at this point, trying to find one where xorg uses 30 mb and suspend/resume works. This is likely a system thing with my particular machine being a Skylake with the Optima Intel/nVidia super Hi-res video, etc.

Topic: [Solved} Speaker Bluetooth
I have a bluetooth speaker connected with blueman, how can I use it with alsa and volumeicon? Do I have to install pulseaudio? Thanks
- This topic was modified 5 years, 2 months ago by rokytnji.
Dear all,
I have two (other…) answers please.
Best regards,
Topic: Weird blueman bluetooth bug
