      Good day, goeie middag,

I cannot open grub/menu.lst by using the Terminal, but I found this film on internet: antiX 13-edit boot loader.

I’d like to change the boot sequence (opstartvolgorde) in Grub from antiX (linux) first to Windows first.
Windows is on sda/dev 1, Linux on sda5.

In the screen Linux is 1st now, Windows 2nd.Should I change root=(hd0,1) in root=(hd0,0) ?

What do I have to change/do?

      timeout 10
      color cyan/blue white/blue
      foreground ffffff
      background 0639a1

      gfxmenu /boot/grub/message

It’s “real”… but arguably not “Epic” (as described on the tin)

Ubuntu, or LinuxMint base + Virtualbox guest additions + humongous assortment of pre-installed applications
        (see: https://sourceforge.net/projects/robolinux/files or https://robolinux.org/downloads/v8.8.1-details.html)

        …and its “secret sauce”
        ( see https://robolinux.org/c-drive-to-vm/ )
coaches folks to use Microsoft sysinternals “disk2vhd” freeware utility to create a virtualbox image from an installed Windows system.

Seriously, as a time-saver, that guidance is well worth the US19.95 (previously 39.95, IIRC)
(No, I’m not a customer. Curiosity led me to retrieve his scripts — residing on an unprotected server — and audit them.)

I, for one, would not have the patience to “load a windoze installation CD/DVD and install” into Virtualbox.
Besides, nowadays even if someone did have the patience for that, and wished to migrate an XP or Win7 system… updates / ServicePacks may be unavailable.

Ok, sorry to have missed the right place to post, I’ll be more accurate in future! 😉
URL I’ve got TB from: https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en
          File I’ve downloaded: tor-browser-linux64-7.0.6_en-US.tar.xz

Here is what they state on the dl page:
“Tor Browser lets you use Tor on Microsoft Windows, Apple MacOS, or GNU/Linux without needing to install any software.
It can run off a USB flash drive, comes with a pre-configured web browser to protect your anonymity, and is self-contained (portable).”
That’s why I’d simply unpacked the TB folder to my user folder (previously worked fine on my MX-16 install).
Did not find any deb package there… anyway there is a way to install tor from debian repos and I’ll give a try.
I’ll let you know about. Thank you for such a fast answer/support!
