Topic: BBCodes problem
Look at this command:
cat /boot/config-‘uname -r‘ | grep -i zswap
The correct form of this command contains backticks (`) and not single quotes (‘). But if I copy-paste the correct form in this forum, the backticks are taken as BBCodes:
cat /boot/config-
uname -r| grep -i zswap- This topic was modified 5 years, 3 months ago by andfree.

Topic: Using zswap instead of zram
I found an alternative to zram you can use if you have a swap partition available. It has some advantages. I used to think zram and zswap were mainly for low ram computers but I recently ran into a situation where I needed 6 gigs of ram and 6 gigs of swap. This led me to rethink having zram and zswap enabled even when you have quite a bit of memory. You might find the links below helpful.

Split from topic Make old system more lightweight, because it was off topic there.
BTW, I have another one question:
$ lsmod | grep zram zram 6301 1 zzz@zzz:~ $ sudo swapon --summary Filename Type Size Used Priority /dev/sda2 partition 2120576 0 -1 /dev/zram1 partition 64096 0 100Why there’s not a “lz4_compress” line?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zram
“From Linux kernel version 3.15 onwards (released on June 8, 2014), zram supports multiple compression streams and multiple compression algorithms. Compression algorithms include LZ4 and LZO. The default is LZO, which is faster at compressing/decompressing, but does not compress quite as efficiently as LZ4. Like most other system parameters, the compression algorithm can be selected via sysfs.”
But look at this: the kernel is 4.10.5, and lz4 is missing.
$ lsmod | grep zram zram 16017 1 yyy@antix1:~ $ sudo swapon --summary Filename Type Size Used Priority /dev/sda2 partition 2128608 0 -1 /dev/zram0 partition 111236 0 100 yyy@antix1:~ $ inxi -S System: Host: antix1 Kernel: 4.10.5-antix.1-486-smp i686 bits: 32 Desktop: IceWM 1.4.2 Distro: antiX-17_386-base Heather Heyer 24 October 2017- This topic was modified 5 years, 3 months ago by andfree.

Steps I took. I used my AntiX 17 install on one of my newer gear to make the bootable usb drive.
I grabbed a old PLOP 4 cd I made long ago. Installed PLOP as boot loader to the hard drive. So I could boot USB.
Inserted my usb drive into the back usb 1.1 port and booted up the iso.Trying this from the PLOP cd during a PLOP live run. Just gave me Press F1 key for help on a AntiX display screen with the logo. Pressing F1 was no use. Hence why I moved on to try installing PLOP internally to my hard drive. Which worked for a graphical install.
Booting and installing off usb 1.1 is like watching paint dry. You think nothing is happening, But if you are patient. Things will start to load. Took a long time to copy files also. Big thanks to Anti for the un-install Adobe Flash Plugin in synaptic package manager suggestion. Qupzilla quit crashing with a illegal instruction error in terminal when I ran it there. I am not going to bother using Firefox or any browser needing sse2 support. My inxi report will show why on cpu readout info.
Lastly. I now am using my 2 usb port/2 firewire combo pcmcia card so I have usb 2.0 ports. I will supply readouts on that below also. I have a 30 gig usb drive tranferring files presently on that pcmcia card. Here are the specs.
