      Good evening fellow antixer,
I was expirmenting with window tiling, after I learned that info in the FAQ is outdated and the keys for it are different I found them in the config files.
But now if I select tile to LEFT or to RIGHT
It can’t be moved off the top of the screen anymore, only moved left and right along the screen.

tiling top left or right moves it to much up, and the status bar can’t be accessed anymore.
At the moment I’m using a vga monitor, and it’s even weirder when using that. But for now I’d be happy if the tiling would work without getting the windows stuck.

Can’t tell you how pleased I am with your AntiX-22 – beyond 5 Star does not cut it 🙂

So fast and utterly stable with my old HP laptop 🙂

Can’t understand why you switched from RoxTerm to Arch’s urxtv to show LXDE Ram usage screenshot – Have you been a naughty boy? (Joke; Monty Python)

Is urxvt a heavy hitter as in this guy’s screenshot? – Wo bro; is that 7.53GiB plus 2.0Gib SWAP – OMG….!!!! 🙂

On my Dell Inspiron 15 I7-7559 I got the black screen when I tried to boot. I also get that same black screen trying to boot 5.10.142 from the package installer. I have the Skylake processor with i915 and nVidia Optimus Graphics. I am currently running the 4.9.0.326 kernel and have been using the following boot codes to get it to boot
          acpi_osi=!Windows acpi_osi=!Windows i915.preliminary_hw_support=1

I read that the i915.preliminary_hw_support=1 was replaced by i915.alpha_support=1 starting with 4.10 kernels (just learned that). I read that the i915.alpha_support=1 was deprecated and being by i915.force_probe=XXXX (device number) starting with 5.3 kernels. (just learned that).

I haven’t been able to run any kernels above 4.9.0.xxx with antiX thus far, and I guess that’s why. I really want to get my bluetooth headset working (been trying a long time), and I don’t know if its a kernel issue, software issue, or idiot behind the wheel problem 🙂

I guess I will try again. Should I put in 191b in the parameter like this, or an *? i915.force_probe=191b

Running live antiX 21 full iso live usb on my Kali Linux Dell P22 chromebook.

I broke Kali deleting my /swap partition and the grow part threw errors since I tried it while running. Duh. Forgot.
Using antiX gparted right now to fix kali corrupted partition installation that won’t boot anymore.
Nice the live iso booted right up with no hiccups.
Curiosity is the only reason that kept Kali on here. I will probably give in and make this a antiX 22 chromebook later on.
Am curious to see if my gparted fix is gonna work.

Sometimes I drive a crooked road to get my mind straight.

                    Hello Mister Brian and Everyone
(oh boy the mx 21 hdd is chirping right now.. ..there is a snapshot, so okay. )

Our T42 is unlike other T42 seen on forum here. Its last install is mx18. always has mx.
Difference this bios2007 no internal wireless, no pae, will not start usb, yes the two stacked usb ports allow only slim usb to get two into place.
                    download base from Georgia,
This is live DVD DVD session
                    BASE started.

Yes it got the message about you cannot start this 32 bit computer with 64 bit software.
Hit Enter for OKAY then proceeded with F3 and F6 selection, hit normal start and it went UP.
So “okay, forget that” was a good answer? Anyway,, it got up once so here it is; went eth0 after it was up
                    conky 95, inxi 140, ps_mem 126MiB of 1000. env-info 96 of 999Mi.
It went to the selected desktop session. What a great keyboard this has. and display. ibm.

I’m here with the Firefox Developers Edition this morning/afternoon (it’s just after mid day here now).
Things were cruising along here nicely, then all of a sudden the site APPEARED to go down.

I went immediately to the Clean Talk software site, and — yes indeed — we have had steady spam and intrusion attacks; my theory about how, when, and why this site sometimes has erratic performance does indeed APPEAR to be significantly affected by the high volume attacks on our servers. If our IP can somehow restrict these attacks BEFORE they reach our Web servers, that would help us a GREAT DEAL!

Info today with the development browser running:

Perhaps I’m misunderstanding how this is supposed to work. I’ve searched the forum, read several threads and watched dolphinoracle’s video from AntiX-17 linked in the FAQ, but I might just have a wrong impression of how home persistence is set up.

Testing with my IBM ThinkPad T42 today, booting from a flash drive burned with AntiX-22_386_full.iso.
At the boot screen I use the function keys to select my Time Zone (F3), Persistence as persist_home (F5), and Console as 1024×768 (F7), then Enter to boot.

I thought that I would be prompted to configure the size of a home persistence file, but instead what happens is I see a few blank lines below “found boot device” and then:

Look for persist device with label antiX-Persist

The screen clears and I see:

Could not find a partition with label antiX-Persist

Please wait while existing partitions are found ...

                        No suitable devices were found.
                        Press <Enter> to continue

I press Enter, the screen clears, returns to the antiX 22 (Grup Yorum) boot screen, this time it is at the run live scripts stage and again says:
Look for persist device with label antiX-Persist

I looked in /var/log/live/initrd.log and it appears that persistence is being disabled because the USB drive is being considered read-only. I tried making it with both Balena Etcher and with dd and I get the same result. Is there some intermediate step I need to take between burning the drive and booting from it, is this a fault with the iso, or does it just not work how I expected it would?

Note the flash disk in /dev/sdb was not connected during my tests. I was just using it to get the initrd.log and inxi output over to a machine with network access since I’m having issues getting on wifi with the Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter built-in to the ThinkPad.

I’ve replicated this problem with my IBM ThinkPad 42. I’ve also tried burning the images with dd instead of Balena Etcher. No change.

As noted in the test kernel thread, I’m here with the Lenovo X201 to test the 5.10.153 kernel on different hardware. It works BETTER here than it works on the Dell Inspiron 5558; functionally it works correctly on both laptops, but it’s less sensitive here; it just does what it’s supposed to do.
While this hardware is OLDER than the Dell, it’s also higher end hardware for the time period in which it was created, so within the design parameters of the system, this one is a midrange to upper midrange, whereas the Dell is decent, but nothing particularly notable; the results show; this old box does alright!

                                  Thanks everyone for your input.
I believe there is some confusion. I have been running Linux since slackware 4.?? and have gone through versions of Redhat, Mandrake, Suse then Ubuntu until Canonical tried their use on anyting fit and swapped to Mint.
What I was trying to ask was to do with using the installer which said Full for Antix and the other option for all other Linux Distros see the screenshot.
I would normally use Balena Etcher so I guess I can use it for this.
