Tagged: clock
I can set the 24 hour clock format by right clicking on the clock, but it goes back to default with next boot.
How can I make this change persist?
Thanks,
koken
Hi koken, in icewm ,which one can only guess that you are, go to
control-centre > icewm settings
This will open geany, now go to the tab preferences in geany
Scroll down , on antiX21 it’s somewhere by line 640, to #CLock Time Format
Here you can do your changes, they will last.
CC > fluxbox settings
it’s the init tab in this case
Look for session.screen0.strftimeFormat:
line 47 here on mine.
You can also use the “search” function from geany and search for time, when you are on the init tab.
After making on-the-fly changes to to fluxbox configuration details via the menu, using the “reconfigure fluxbox” menu item should make permanent the changes.
Alternatively, you can (as caprea mentioned) access the config file ( ~/.fluxbox/init ) via ControlCenter, or via file manager…
The clock format is specified via the line session.screen0.strftimeFormat
If you need a refresher on “unix datetime codes”
(I repeatedly do need to revisit the manpage):
$ man date
edit:
(whoops, too slow. Did i really dillydally 15 minutes drafting this ???) yeah, what caprea wrote
Ok, Got it changed and displaying properly.
There was some confusion about which window manager I was using, which is useful to know in this case. (-:
So far, antiX is running very fast on my PC after I upgraded my flashdrive to 3.2
Thanks!
