How do I make the taskbar transparent? And how do I shorten the taskbar length?
How do I get rid of the annoying numbers (1,2,3,4) on the workspace pager?
I’m using antiX 19.4 with spacefm-icewm. My current theme is BlueDay-Small which is the only theme I found pleasing. I’m quite new to AntiX but not Linux. Thanks in advance.

::Hi.
You can check this topic for general theming info: https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/customizing-and-managing-icewm-themes/
More info on icewm theming: https://ice-wm.org/themes/My current theme is BlueDay-Small which is the only theme I found pleasing.
I would copy the folder /usr/share/icewm/themes/BlueDay-Small/ to $HOME/.icewm/themes/ and rename it to something like “custom-Bluday” or something else that is easy for you to remember and identify when selecting the theme from the theme menu, so that you don’t depend on .prefoverrides options and can save the theme for the future.
Then, you can start editing the theme as you please.How do I make the taskbar transparent?
inside the new custom theme folder, edit the default.theme file to your liking. To get the taskbar transparent, create a taskbarbg.xpm file that is a transparent image. One ossible source, if not creating with a tool: https://github.com/bbidulock/icewm/issues/299
And how do I shorten the taskbar length?
I think you can change the size (percentage) and position in preferences.
TaskBarWidthPercentage = 100
is the default, for 100% screen width size.How do I get rid of the annoying numbers (1,2,3,4) on the workspace pager?
Those are workspaces. You can disable them from the menu. (menu > Settings > Preferences > Taskbar > TaskbarShowWorkspaces)

::Hello subluminal,
Welcome to antiX Linux and the forum.
Regardless of your level of knowledge about GNU/Linux, I recommend you read these excellent tutorials created by @PPC:
Short essential how-to list for the complete Linux newbie and How-to install applications – 2020 version.
I can’t write in English and I send you my texts translated by the internet translator, I hope you can understand everything.

I have not yet explored these features in antiX but I am sure others will be able to help you. I was able to make the Tint2 taskbar transparent as provided by @PPC in the thread https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/antix-transformation-pack-min-fluxbox-with-tint2-toolbar-antix-ft-10/. As you said you are experienced with other GNU/Linux distributions, it may be that all the features set up in antiX’s Tint2 bar creation script for fluxbox may be of interest to you. I will follow this thread you started with great interest. Thank you very much for bringing these topics to this forum.
