Yes, you read it right!
I have uploaded to the antiX repos a 4.14.1 kernel for stretch, testing and sid users.
The kernels are 686-pae 32 bit, 64 bit versions of ‘normal’ and gnu-libre’ flavours.
You can install via synaptic, cli-aptiX, and via the command line apt-get.
Make sure you install the headers as well.
Do not remove your old kernel until you are satisfied that this new one works well for your hardware.
Do I need to upgrade to this kernel?
For the vast majority of our users, the answer is probably no.
If you have a very new laptop/desktop, then this kernel may play better with the newer hardware in particular, ryzen/amd processors.
We assume users know what they are doing when installing a new kernel. If you don’t then do not upgrade the kernel.
