    Yes, you read it right!

I have uploaded to the antiX repos a 4.14.1 kernel for stretch, testing and sid users.
The kernels are 686-pae 32 bit, 64 bit versions of ‘normal’ and gnu-libre’ flavours.

You can install via synaptic, cli-aptiX, and via the command line apt-get.

Make sure you install the headers as well.

Do not remove your old kernel until you are satisfied that this new one works well for your hardware.

Do I need to upgrade to this kernel?

For the vast majority of our users, the answer is probably no.

If you have a very new laptop/desktop, then this kernel may play better with the newer hardware in particular, ryzen/amd processors.

We assume users know what they are doing when installing a new kernel. If you don’t then do not upgrade the kernel.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.
