Starting around January 8, 2023, I had not been able to access antixforum.com. I’m not talking aout logging in; I mean I could not even bring up the site on my home wifi network.
Now, it took me a while to realize that the site was not down temporarily. As the title of this thread shows, I was getting “403 Forbidden” error. Actually, it was about a month before I realized that the error meant that the site is up, but for some reason I wasn’t being allowed to connect. Every other site under the Sun was able to load (even antixlinux.com), just not the forum. I found I COULD connect to the site (I discovered by accident) by using my mobile phone, connecting via my cellular data (not home wifi). But the problem with that is, I HATE using my phone for typing in coherent English, and for viewing websites.
It took me another month or so to solve my problem: Connect via a VPN.
Since I don’t pay for one, I wanted a free one. And the easier to impliment, the better.
I only need it to connect to my favorite, must-have website. (I felt like I lost my right arm or something.)Well, to make this long story short(er), I chose VPNBook (vpnbook dot com). A free VPN, with no sign-up requirement. You simply download their key/certificate bundle (zip file), unzip it, install the “openvpn” debian package:
sudo apt install openvpn
And run this in a terminal to fire it up:
sudo openvpn /home/christophe/Documents/vpnbook-openvpn-us1/vpnbook-us1-udp25000.ovpn
Obviously your path to the .ovpn file will be different. You’ll need to enter the user name & password from the website in the terminal dialog (prompt)
Keep that terminal open (perhaps minimize the window).
Then starting the browser, it connects to antixforum.com, just like before.I mention this just in case anyone else runs into this problem. Hopefully someone will find it useful.
(Oh, and don’t tell the WordPress forum software — just in case it’s achieved sentience…) 🙂

::Glad you found a workaround, but I’d be curious as to why this site is BLOCKED for you! You might want to check your /etc/hosts file and make sure you didn’t add it with an IP address that’s no longer assigned to antixforum.com, What country are you in and who’s providing your DNS? Pinging currently shows for me:
ping http://www.antixforum.com
PING antixforum.com (70.32.23.120) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from mi3-ss106.a2hosting.com (70.32.23.120): icmp_seq=1 ttl=51 time=45.6 msMarch 26, 2023 at 6:05 pm #103287Moderator

Well, I’ve got many (too many, if you ask my wife) computers in the house. Live usb & my wife’s ipad also wouldn’t connect to the forum site. (That’s OK for her (haha) but not for me.)
So, yeah, I am sooo thankful to be back!confirmed antiX frugaler, since 2019

::Good that you found a way back to the forum. I remember that Oops reported the same problem, for him it started with the MX forum and weirdly a while later here in the antiX forum, too.

::Thanks, caprea. Although I didn’t remember it, his issue is/was exactly like mine.
