::In virtualbox, whether live USB or installed, if I increase the screen size while in herbstluftwm then I can’t get more than about 50% of the usable space for opening programs.
If you restart herbstluft session (after changing the resolution), does it still happen?
Yes, sorry I should have noted that. Reloading herbstluftwm, logging out and back in, and rebooting all result in the same ~50% usable screen issue.
Other things I’ve tried – installing and using the picom compositor, enabling/disabling 3d acceleration in vbox, disabling the panel in herbstluftwm, uninstalling conky, uninstalling slimsky. None of these made a difference. The screenshot is from a fresh live USB version.
I figure it’s probably a vbox video issue, but just wanted to let you know. I’ll try installing on bare metal when I have time, hopefully won’t have this issue.

::I just noticed one odd behaviour, running b2 in virtualbox, in live mode- I assume it’s the UEFI boot screen:
-On the first boot screen (that allows to select kernels and language), if I select my own language- pt-pt the first screen appears localized, but on the second screen, I have to select my language again- it comes up in English- is that the expected behaviour? (No biggie, I just have to select my language again…)-One suggestion- we may use some copy and paste pre-configured shortcuts in roxterm…
@Xecure- do you want help with the .deb package script (if I understood correctly, you are working on it)? If so, just let me know… I’ll try to help if I have the free time.

After I do
desktop-session-exit -R
herbstluft is back to using the full available resolution (testing on live on VB without virtualbox-guest-* installed). Can you test to see if this also fixes the issue when using virtualbox-guest-*?
As desktop session is the one managing herbstluft at the top, it is probbly the one that needs to be restarted (also restarts herbstluft session).- This reply was modified 1 year, 8 months ago by Xecure.

But I guess they are different themes, which only are used for selecting the kernel. No idea if the selected language can be brought to the other menu.
@Xecure- do you want help with the .deb package script
For which package? If this is for deb-helper (to introduce runit commands), then that has been discarded for now.

When I read a reference to .deb script I assumed you were referring to debinstaller, sorry, my bad!
Also, one more suggestion:
antiX 21 will ship with 2 e-mail clients- claws and seamonkey… Why not adding a .desktop file to run “seamonkey -mail”, so users can launch directly the email client / (the very nice) calendarP.

::Also, after I type my password to login, the login screen disappears, but the message
(Sessiontype: rox-icewm)
(Press F1 to change session type) (in light purple)persists for about 1-2 seconds, then disappears, then I am back to my rox-icewm desktop.
I think I have solved it, but I need advice on the decision.
What I have done right now is, instead of removing the text, I regenerate the background image just before Login in (which covers all text). The question is:
Should this background regeneration happen on every boot or only when auto-login is disabled?
Right now, if auto-login is enabled, it will still display the background (something it didn’t do before) a few seconds before the session starts, which could be useful for when the background hasn’t been set (for example, minimal sessions or errors with feh). So, before I push the changes to gitlab, I am asking here:
A) Should the slimski background regenerate only when manually login in (Session texts will not be shown after correct login in)?
B) Should the slimski theme background always be shown before the session starts, even if auto-login is enabled (before, no background was shown at all)?- This reply was modified 1 year, 8 months ago by Xecure.

That is only my personal preference.

Thanks. I also like the idea, but maybe others prefer a seamless auto-login
If anyone is interested in testing the change, manually install this package and reboot to see if it is working properly.antiX Live system enthusiast.

The fix works very good. Looks a lot better than that delay with the text present. Great job!
Question:
I like to place the login screen in the middle top of the screen, so in the file
/usr/share/slimski/themes/antiX/slimski.themeI change the
input_panel_x 50% input_panel_y 10%That does the job of moving the login screen to the middle top of the screen. But did not change position of the texts. They are still on the left.
How do I change the position of the texts to match the position of the login screen in slimski?August 23, 2021 at 11:36 pm #65537Memberolsztyn
::Question:
Just minor wrinkles I cannot seem to overcome:
– Starting ufw via command line ‘sudo ufw enable’ and via Control Panel Network’> Firewall/start works for the session but does not survive reboot, although sudo ufw enable comes back as expected that it is started and added to startup list.
Is there a new way to make uwf automatically started on boot, just as in antiX 19?– It appears to me Bluetooth Bluez service seems resisting my attempts to start. Still playing with this challenge. Question: Do I still need to install Pulseaudio in order for bluetooth to work with audio, even if I manage to start Bluez service? I think Blueman needs to pass audio via Pulseaudio and not Alsa, the way it is in antiX 19, at least…
Update:
Actually runsv service ‘bluetooth’ appears to be running. However I realize that memory footprint of that process is 0 per Htop…
Thanks for any hints…- This reply was modified 1 year, 8 months ago by olsztyn.
