::I think the most left option is used to disable it for the future. I will have a look.
Yes, this is the one, to disable that screen going forward. In 21 it is missing.
I think there is something wrong with your system. I do get the “Window” button (a bit odd of a name, I will have to check what went wrong here), but that button does disable the automatic popup window for “Other desktops” when on a “unsupported desktop” (value OTHER_DESKTOPS_WINDOW=”false” in ~/.desktop-session/desktop-session.conf)
I still cannot reproduce the slimski problem where the sessiontype name doesn’t change to the user’s previous selection. I tried with both the default version in the ISO and the one with the fix, all with the “default” slimski theme.- This reply was modified 1 year, 8 months ago by Xecure.

::Can anyone confirm that they do get the savestate live mode to work (I currently cannot get it to work)?
This live mode saves files inside the /live/boot-dev/antiX/state folder, that remain after reboot. I enabled it with the boot parameter, but no changes, not even my wireless configuration, are getting saved. I created the live-USB with live-usb-maker, so it cannot be the tool. Am I the only one experiencing this issue?antiX Live system enthusiast.

::I confirmed this too. However, running live the default repo chosen for the antiX and Debian updates was the same as I have selected on previous installations so installing and updating software works for me. The repo selections cannot be changed. I was able to add or turn off the multimedia repo in synaptic.
I wonder if this is a file or directory permission issue for the repo tool?

::I checked the previous test system that I have on another partition and I don’t see any obvious file permission differences but there is definitely a problem changing repo with repo-manager in the latest build.

If it is ‘Window’ button now, not ‘Disable’ then yes, I do see it. After checking it appears to function the same way as previous ‘Disable’ to disable that pop up screen. So if ‘Window’ means to disable the warning pop up screen, not ‘Disable’ I am OK with this as long as it disables the pop up screen, no matter how it is named, as long as I know what it does.
Thanks. I was looking for ‘Disable’ button as labeled before, so I questioned the lack of it…

::Pending resolution of some services issues I want just to comment that antiX 21 B2 appears well put together, particularly something I did not mention before in my testing reports:
– Boot menus include identifying Frugal installs in addition to grub bootloaders and boot menus.
– Launching Frugals from such menu appears to work well and more flexible than before, particularly that Frugal linuxfs files are booted successfully even if kernel version is different from one of the ones included in default antiX boot selection (4.9 or 5.10). Boot process is not stopped with warning as before ( I think issue still in antiX 21 B1, which stopped booting with a message about kernel mismatch although giving an option to continue) and boot appears to proceed successfully.
– One question I would ask is why booting of existing installed OS instances are under menu item ‘Rescue menus’. We are not about rescuing any installed system or Frugal, but rather we are about booting those from these antiX boot menus. So why are these OS systems under ‘Rescue’ menus? Thanks and Regards…

::This is experimental, and isn’t a package yet, but if you install dialogbox from the repos and run this script from terminal (with sudo), you can manage runit services in a graphical interface.
Attempted to run (as sudo, of course) but not too successful, it comes back to me with:
NOT RUNNING AS ROOT.
Tried also sudo su to be root but then I am getting ‘Permission denied’…
Is there a trick to make it run?

This is an error from the last package I built. I didn’t add anticapitalista’s fix to the desktop icons. Fixed for last version.
If it is ‘Window’ button now, not ‘Disable’ then yes, I do see it.
This is a bug I introduced in the last version, when adapting for translation. Should be fixed on the next merge request. Thanks for pointing it out.
Attempted to run (as sudo, of course) but not too successful, it comes back to me with:
NOT RUNNING AS ROOT.First install dialogbox
sudo apt install dialogbox
then run the script with sudo
sudo ./runit-service-manager.sh
Make sure it has executable permissions.-It just came to me that the “Update menu” entry does not work on my system – because it needs root privileges- I edited my fluxbox menu so it includes “gksu” first- does that issue still happens in antiX 21 (sorry, I’m away from my test machine).
I just tested on live and installed, and the refresh Menu button works without the need for root privileges. I tested on a completely clean live session, booting with a different language, and the button still works. You can even run it without sudo from the terminal.
On the LIVE USB savestate issue. Is it working for everyone else? If it is, I will make a new live-USB again just to start from a better system.

::@ Xecure:
Just to update, Thanks to your service startup utility it appears I was able to make ufw start automatically at boot. Bluetooth service also starts up with the help of this tool. Testing bluetooth function still ahead but looks like all outstanding service issues have been resolved.

Confirmed it is broken in runit (and previous beta of runit), but not sysvinit beta1 version.
Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.
