Based on the same answer give in linuxmint forums:
        https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=333885&p=1911200
        It is 64 bit compatible.

        processor: x86 Family 6 Model 15 stepping 13 GenuineInte] ~2194 MHz

        Based on wikipedia:

        Core 2 Duo T5470 – 1.60 GHz (2 MB L2, 800 MHz FSB, no VT) Family 6, Model 15, Stepping 13

And intel says Core 2 Duo T5470 is a 64 bit capable processor.

        But with
        total Physical Memory: 1,024.00 MB
Maybe you are better off with a 32 bit version.

Anyway, you can select the 32 bit or the 64 bit antiX version. The 32 bit version will use less RAM (which is good), and the 64 bit version will have more new compatible software available (wich could also be good).

Based on advantages and disadvantages, choose your prefered version.

Core 2 Duo is a 64bit processor, & therefore should run any 64bit distro, but if you have less than 4GB ram, either will work, but a 32bit may run just a little bit quicker.

Edit: I was typing as the above was posted; with just 1GB ram, I’d use the 32bit version, & give it an additional 2GB of swap, modern web browser are heavy on resources.

          Linux (& BSD) since 1999

would 32bit be useful for using a web browser

Yes. Many users have tried different browsers on antiX 32 bits. Have a look at past related messages in the facebook group.

Know that 32 bits will always run on 64 bit CPU machines, so no worry there.
Follow fatmac’s advice and install antiX 19.3 386 (or try it live) and test it for yourself. Worst case scenario is reinstalling with the 64 bit version if you have anything you are missing on the 32bit version.

I am not sure, but I suspect the kernel for the 32 bit version is a bit bigger for better hardware compatibility (or maybe some packages need more dependencies to work on 32 bits).

No real idea, so not much I can say about it. I just know it worked for me when I tested it.

Just yesterday a guy uploaded a youtube video of him using antiX linux 19 on a Pentium 4 with 500MBs of RAM and he used it to record, edit and upload the video (you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG3gQ7BoEfk).
His main computer broke and he had to keep working. The only computer he had available was that Pentium 4 computer, so he used it until he could get new computer replacements.

Your computer is much better than his, and you don’t need to edit video, so you should be able to have a positive antiX experience.

There are many web browsers you can use. Midory, palemoon, netsurf, the recently updated badwolf, etc.

See if antiX 19.3 boots from DVD or from USB on your computer. If it does, install antiX on a new partition, create a 2 GB swap partition, and test the recommended browsers and see how is your experience. You don’t need to remove Windows XP, so there is no risk there.
