::Right, these antiX tools seem very interesting, but need to change some practices.
Off Topic
Making small changes to the way you work often yields worthwhile benefits.
We see people with low powered hardware attracted to antiX because of its efficient design and operation (lean and mean). Some go on to install heavyweight apps in the expectation they will perform to the standard achieved using high powered kit. This approach may lead to disappointment and frustration.
A more fruitful approach is to partner the lightweight distro with lightweight apps. Doing so often means you can achieve the same outcome and seldom have to give up the ability to do something.
In general terms, employing an app designed for use on a heavyweight all-bells-and-whistles distro is not a good fit with the basic antiX philosophy. Digging deeper into what is available can often be beneficial.

::@SamK… … Of course, I agree, but with this kind of tool, the hosted-user and the server-user must be agree for this whole process and practices. It’s a question of reciprocity and trust.

::Yes, trust is at the heart of sharing a remote desktop however it is done.
In the case of third party involvement, both end users have to trust each other. In addition they both have to trust the third party.
In the case of 1-to-1 Assistance, both end users have to trust each other.

https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/tips-for-improving-performance-on-ancient-kitThank you for that link! It will be a good starting point for further testing.
As for choice of software for remote support, it is my experience that the best software is often the one that actually gets used. Almost all the people that I have supported in the past, and most likely it will stay the same in the future, could be described as typical “users“, as opposed to “enthusiasts“. If I limit my expectations on them to switching on the computer and clicking/double clicking on a specific icon, I can ususally get connected. Using AnyDesk, I can be on my desktop or laptop, Windows or Linux, it’s all the same.
In comparison to 1-to-1 Assistance, it will probably use a bit more RAM, and it involves a third party supplier, but that’s a trade off I’m willing to accept to get the ease of use. Having tested AnyDesk on my test rig, an Acer Aspire 3100 with 512 MB RAM, running antiX 19.4 full 64 bit, it increases the RAM usage with about 20 MB when started up. To me, this is acceptable.

I agree too, without a third party, it is much better (if the practice is easy too for the two other parties)

::Although the OP has decided remain with a non-antiX app, there may still be some value to be gained by future readers.

1-to-1 Assistance is designed for unsophisticated, non-technical users to obtain assistance. This in-house app usually works straight out of the box. The user has only to click to start the app, then type in an ip address.
The following video by dolphin_oracle shows how simple and straightforward it is.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEmtZTpKR0AA writen guide is available in the antiX-FAQ together with its companion app, 1-to-1 Voice.
http://download.tuxfamily.org/antix/docs-antiX-19/FAQ/index.htmlBoth in-house apps can be installed via
Control Centre→System→Package Installer

::@SamK: Thank you for the explanation and the pointers to some good documentation, visual and written.
We do indeed have a lot of good information available.

FI: @SamK … You are a very good advocate (me too, for antiX , MX or Linux or unix like in general), I will use this great antiX tool with some people (but not with all, some are too olds for a change of practices).
For info, by exposing all of these limitations or objections, I also have been doing the “devil advocate”. -
