adding iceWM as a second WM

My current Antix core build uses FluxBox only and I’d like to give the new iceWM version (1.7.0) a try.

So I’m wondering :
a) what do I have to do to add a second WM and selectively boot into one or the other
b) whether adding iceWM at this point would screw things up

I tried searching site:antixforum.com but didn’t get any hits

has guidance on updating the menu for the window manager and application changes.

There is an IceWM package available. Check for additional packages apt-cache search icewm may help you or if you use the synaptic package manager you can also search for icewm.

I don’t think icewm 1.7 is in the antiX repos yet, so you will have to download and install it from elsewhere.

Install icewm and use the loging screen (I think it was lightdm) to select to what session (WM) you want to log in (I think there is a dropdown menu on the top-right corner).

No screwing up. If you don’t like it, you log out back to lightdm, select to log in to fluxbox, and that is it. Then you can uninstall icewm and be happy.
