::One of his examples was the AI eventually painting everything black to maximize the energy from the Sun. IOW, it won’t “do the thing” bc it hates us or whatever, it would not consider us at all. Something to consider, indeed.
To more advanced AI machines in the future the human beings will be considered though. Human beings will be considered as just inefficient carbon infestation…

::Words do matter!
I recently listened to a youtuber about a [DEL: woke re-write :DEL] re-edit of a children’s book to align it to modern sensibilities.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrzskzLkvl4
Fast-forward to 13:41 for the story without a rather broad introduction, the whole monologue segment lasts slightly over 45 minutes.
The original story and here.That really got me started!
What a messed up traits this so-called evolved society has developed in order to fulfill a self-imposed role to protect people from being exposed to anything that might be offensive, narrowing our minds to modern sensibilities.
I understand that there are laws banning propagation of Nazi ideology since it is inherently oppressive and it lead to World War II (though not without a cause… the “post-Versaille” Germany was brought economically to its knees leading to poverty, polarization and radicalism).
I understand that the what is acceptable evolves but the there displayed examples of [DEL: censoring :DEL] re-editing without the author’s involvement?
Shame on the company, shame on those who stir up fears of backslash that lead to this, shame on the society for not having found a middle ground to deal with the history.What’s wrong with a simple introduction akin to the below?
BEGIN
Some of the language used by the author has always been controversial. Current sensibilities have evolved and some of the language is considered offensive.
After a careful consideration, we have decided to keep the text as is.
In doing so, we respect both the author’s integrity — even though reflecting outdated times — and the readers’ ability to navigate this text and them carefully recognizing which expressions are dated respecting sensibilities of times past, i.e. where our culture has evolved towards a more tolerant arrangement.
ENDReminds me of reported removal of guns from the hands of the FBI’s agents in the re-release of E.T. movie.
