A few days ago I think I accidentally clicked on something that aligned my desktop icons (about 12) in neatly spaced rows and columns.
I have not been able to find what I did. The only thing I found on a web search was from 2013 and probably no longer applies.
Does anyone know if there is a way to align the icons on the desktop? (I am using ICEWM)

::On many desktops, if you right click on the desktop, you can see an option similar to
Arrange Desktop Icons
Of course this depends on what you are using; I cannot determine what you are using from your note, but try what I suggested and see if there is something similar available on your system; otherwise please specify the specifics, which may cause the specific option and technique to vary slightly.

::I am using Rox-IceWM, the one set up when I installed antiX, except I replaced the desktop image with a picture.
When I right-click on the desktop I get the Start Menu, same as if I clicked on the menu button on the lower left of the screen.

You must have done magic. I have been searching in the rox-filer documentation and I cannot find an auto-arrange pinboard icons feature.
I would understand if you switched to space-icewm desktop (and it autoarranged files in your desktop folder), but I have no idea how to do what you have done in rox desktop session.If you ever figure this out, please share it here.

::I found this thread:
https://antixlinux.com/forum-archive/align-desktop-icons-in-rox-icewm-t4122.htmlIt says one can manually change the x, y alignment.
Is this thread helpful?

::All I remember is I opened File Manager which opened in the upper left corner of the screen, then I went to the Music subdirectory, and clicked on an MP3 file so it would play. X Mulitmedia System opened just to the right of File Manager and the file began to play. After the file completed playing, I right-clicked on the file to delete it, but I must of missed the file, because I did not get the delete screen. I clicked on something to close that screen and the X Multimedia System jumped to the upper Left corner and File Examiner was now just to the right of it. When I closed out both windows, the 12 icons were perfectly aligned.
I did find an Arrange option when I right clicked on the Show Desktop icon at the bottom left of the screen, but I found that it aligned windows, not desktop icons.
The suggested website is the one I found from 2013. It said to go to: /home/(username)/.config/rox.sourceoorce.net/rox-filer/pb_antix-ice. But I did no see how I could get there using File Manager, so I was not able to test that as a solution. I have not been successful trying to change or make directories in Terminal.

::Hi @antixjim,
Perhaps you can try:
sudo nano ~/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/ROX-Filer/pb_antiX-icewmModify as needed,
then save using Ctrl + s
then exit using Ctrl + x -
