In LibreOffice running under antiX 19 on an EeePC I assigned Alt Shift X as a shortcut for Close Document.
Now, on a different computer (HP) running under antiX 21 but with the same version of LibreOffice, the Alt Shift X combination doesn’t work. Can anyone tell me what it’s reserved for now? And is there a way of making it available so that I can assign it to Close Document in LibreOffice? Or do I have to use a different key combination?
Hi parippu, please tell us which desktop you are using.
In icewm you have a keys file, some keys are also defined in preferences. Desktop key combinations grab keys before LO.
I’m using IceWM. And antiX-21 64-bit full.
In the keys and preferences files in .icewm I can’t find any references to Alt Shift X.
On this computer (HP) at present I’m using Alt C for Close Document and it works.
Alt Shift is used to toggle localisation on antiX-21.
To change it, Set System Keyboard Layout in antiX control centre under System tab
Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.
Great!
In Set System Keyboard Layout I’ve changed the hotkey combination from Left Alt+Left Shift to Both Shift together and in LibreOffice was then able to assign Alt Shift X to Close Document and it works.
Problem solved.
Many thanks.
