::Hello Everybody!
Been with Mx for couple of years.Trying antiX in live usb.hi and welcome!
You choose a great time to take a look at antiX! If you are not already doing that, try the new antiX19 beta, it’s way much better looking that 17.X, and comes with a much more modern way to configure your network (connman), and basically a more modern version of almost everything! It still has some bugs (connman sometimes acts out, for example), that will eventually be ironed out in the final version, in the neat future.
I have MX on my desktop (I’m using right now). It’s runs very fast, but I notice that antiX is even smoother that MX…
If antiX looks very different (more windows xp style), take a look around the forums for ways to change it’s looks
Have fun!P.

::Thanks all of you.
@PPC Im using 17.4.1 now.And there is lot of discussions going in Mx forum and here regarding antiX19 beta particularly about network issues and connman.I wait for the stable version of 19.Thanks for your suggestion anyway.With 17.4.1 also im having trouble connecting to wifi.Will create a new post about this.June 19, 2019 at 4:40 am #23375MemberPPC
::@Atlanelan – sorry to hear you are having trouble connecting to wifi. antiX 16.X an 17.X never once failed to connect to my networks, do ask around in the forum, to get help on that subject or…
…Since the beta uses connman to configure network connections, you can try looking for help with your current problem or, if you are felling brave enough, try the beta, see if connman detects wi-fi networks, and if does not do so, try the solution I got in the forum: open the terminal and enter “sudo service connman restart” and see the problem is solved and connman can “see” and connect to wi-fi networks. I only insist on you trying the beta to see if it “fixes” your wi-fi troubles, because, when connman works, it’s the simplest – and fastest way to configure and connect to a network on antiX.
It’s always a safe bet to use only the final version of any OS!P.

::Here is a suggestion that might help if you don’t see wlan0 for example. Perhaps wifi problem is that Debian packagers now use firmware-misc-nonfree directory which no longer contains Ralink. On my eeepc901 netbook, rt2800.pci works fine.
I came upon this problem when moving from refracta8.3 to refracta9.1 since that is devuan-based and will still fit on a 4GB ssd drive (antiX no longer does) if one doesn’t want OS on SDHC card.
refracta8.3 has a directory “wireless-drivers” which contains many. I copied the directory to the refracta9.1 install and ran “sudo gdebi w*/*ralink*”, then wicd
worked fine to connect using Ralink.
firmware-misc-nonfree might have dropped older wifi adapters.
Good luck.June 19, 2019 at 7:11 pm #23446Anonymous
::Thankyou @semicynic.Wifi interface detected by ceni in antiX 17.4.1 and im able to complete all the steps shown in the ceni screenshots in FAQ section>internet without any errors.But can’t connect to internet.Tried wicd.It connects an unencripted network avilable in the neighbourhood but not my encripted network.As @PPC suggested I tried with antix19 beta also.Connman connects but no internet.Im attaching a screenshot.

::Hi Atlanelan. Welcome to the antiX forumns.
Maybe the problem is with the encryption? Maybe you can try to connect to the wifi router in the open, with no encryption, just for testing.
