When I run anti-x from a disk and I try to run file manager as root or run an install to the hard drive it asks for a password even though I never set one. Yes I am new to anti-x and probably am missing something simple, thank-you.

When you say from a disk, do you mean you installed antiX or you are running it live from CD/DVD or USB?

If you mean running antiX live, you need to use the default password. For the demo accound (default live user), the password is demo

        Have a read here: https://antixlinuxfan.miraheze.org/wiki/AntiX_Live_System#Default_users_and_passwords

Also, if new to antiX, have a look at PPC’s articles in the Tip and Trics section in the forum.
