Looks similar to the issue with AntiX 17 x64.
Tried to update a ThinkPad T60 with antiX 17, yet Control Center, Nano and many other apps uninstalled themselves on update and dist-upgrade.
Installed eudev (the fix that worked for x64) and no improvement.
Removed 17 xfce and installed 17.1 Icewm only (fresh), got it all configured, updated etc., but because I use both IceWM and Xfce, was about to install xfce and, tried to use the snapshot maker and it also was missing, along with the Control Center and many other packages. Apps such as Pulseaudio do not work at all.
Unlike x64, it still boots to the desktop. Tried to reinstall CC but it was missing some features. A lot uninstalled or not functioning
Is there a fix for x86? Two other x86 T60 ThinkPads still have 17. Also, have fully configured USB snapshots ready to boot, that already have 17 xfce from before this happened. Don’t care if it is 17 or 17.1, but rather not start again with a fresh unconfigured I.S.O.

On a separate partition with an older snapshot installation, got eudev updated with x64 instructions. No missing packages after reboot. Pulseaudio still doesn’t work – a separate issue I guess.
Is there a way to salvage 17.1?
Had to fresh install as pulseaudio did not work on the old snapshots or after installing eudev.
Unlike 17.1 x64, the newer eudev is not installed. Had I upgraded first, and not run update and dist-upgrade, it would have included it.
Although it did not display same behavior, it was the same problem.
On the 2nd fresh install – updated, upgraded then dist-upgrade. and all worked out well. Eudev was in the upgrade – did not have to install.
