When I click suspend button in menu, the display off, but my source remains on (the cooler remains running) and the computer can not leave this state unless I press the computer’s reset button. This happens on antiX-19.3full but not in antiX-19full. How do suspend to ram in antix-19.3(full version)?

It could be a difference in the kernel or related to your machine. I would suggest posting the output of
        inxi -Fxz
from both systems if possible. I’m no expert on kernels to analyze it, but that would help whoever looks at it.

Here is the output of “inxi -Fxz” for both systems:

I would try a different kernel. You could install the older kernel on 19.3 and boot to it temporarily via the advanced options on the grub menu. If that works you could either use it or experiment with trying different kernels available on the package installer until you find the newest one that works.

I am not that much of an expert as I never use this, but if both are handled by the same grub configuration can you check to see if both or either have a resume=uuid…. configuration on the linux line? Are you using swap? Swap partition or file?

It may be that information to continue the previous operation is stored there.

I don’t think kernel policy would change from one version on 4.9 to another. If one was 4.9 and the other 5.4 I can see it being an issue.

fungalnet, I am not using swap. I am using grub4dos to boot the iso file of antiX-19.3 from a flash drive.
                  Here is my boot lines:

                  kernel /antiX/vmlinuz fromiso=/_ISO/LINUX/MNU/antiX19.3/32bits/antiX-19.3_386-full.iso desktop=space-icewm desktheme=dark hwclock=local tz=America/Argentina/Buenos_Aires kbd=br quiet splasht disable=lxF
                  initrd /antiX/initrd.gz

Do you have any other Debian based distro’s that suspend works for that are also booted from the flashdrive? I would suggest running antiX from a flashdrive made using the live usb maker included, and see if it will suspend from that. If that works then you need to investigate suspending under grub4dos and how to diagnose problems. I can’t help there, but that’s how I would go about it.

BobC, I have antiX-19full Marielle Franco booting from a iso file in flash drive, it uses grub4dos to boot and suspends to ram normally. Also, I have Linux Mint, Debian jessie, and Porteus-4.0, all them are booted from a iso file by grub4dos and all them suspend to ram without problem. The only distro that do not suspend to ram is antiX-19.3full Manolis Glezos, so I do not believe the problem is grub4dos. I use grub4dos for a long time and never have problem to suspend to ram.

Ok, did you try using the version of the kernel from 19 that worked with the 19.3?

No, I still do not tried another kernel. I can not change the kernel if I am booting from iso file. I will get a clean usb stick and install the antiX-19.3 there, I will do that using the antiX tools, so I will able to try a different kernel.

Yes, I think that will be your best bet.

If you get it all working and can’t find it documented how to do it, maybe consider writing up how you got it to work and posting it here in the Tips area, or on the Wiki so others can use them as instructions.
