No problem here by installing the browser with the package-installer.Yes, I have indeed… Thank you caprea!
Install worked after update…

::Hi anticapitalista-
Thank you for such nice work on this – very impressive, although it always has been.
Do the file names/wallpaper names have spaces?
How are you setting your custom wallpaper? Which app?
Removing the spaces was what worked in both Home/Pictures and usr/share/wallpaper. I will just remember to rename with no spaces in antiX 19.
Always use C.C. – “Choose Wallpaper” – was not aware there was any other way for IceWM and Fluxbox.
1. Seems like the issue is with your imported files. Can you check the format?
The files are almost all Leafpad originated text files with a few that are Featherpad. They never save with extensions in the name.
Yes – all imported files.
Attachments are examples from B3 and MX.

::BobC-
Thanks!
I always format and after the install then copy in my own files.
Same here – Gparted – Swap file partition and root partition – select partitions on install and copy files to Home/documents after install.
Xfce runs flawlessly [except cannot select wallpaper in the usual manner in Thunar – that is not normal for antiX]. Thunar displays and opens the text files up as “read and write only”.
On antiX 19 installations with only IceWM, and the files are executable.
Same setup for years. MX and antiX.
Please tell me how to use quotes with a specific individual such as “BobC wrote” in title?

::rej,
Noclue created a thread for you…
https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/ot-sometimes/#post-26119
On the header above the post on the right look for the “QUOTE” link…
We should limit the discussion in this thread to issues with 19b3 that the devs need to look at (or explain how to work it) if possible. That way they can focus on getting the beta completed and getting a good release out.

1. Changing Grub background doesn’t work.
Neither from the Control Centre, nor by adding it manually in /etc/default/grub (incl. update-grub).
See screenshots 0 & 1. It doesn’t even give back the original preinstalled image, but only the default.Confirmed. This is due to some problem with the grub images you sent me.
Just to see, try copying /usr/share/wallpaper/grub/auditorio_de_tenerife to /usr/share/wallpaper/back.jpg
Then update-grub in a root terminal.
New image does appear at grub screen.Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

::The problem with ICMP in the TCP/IP stack still exists in:
$ uname -a Linux antix1 4.9.189-antix.1-amd64-smp #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Aug 15 01:53:58 BST 2019 x86_64 GNU/LinuxRunning “sudo /usr/share/ufw/check-requirements” shows the same failures
as in Beta 2.What this means is ICMP is broken in both IPv4 and IPv6.
The effect is not limited to the UFW firewall enabling failure.
If you check the status of UFW after it is enabled, it will show that
it is active. My testing shows that it will not be automatically
re-enabled after the computer is rebooted.The other effects of having a broken ICMP based on the results from

::Do the later antiX kernels work as they should (4.19 and 5.2 series)?Yes, 4.19.66-antix.1 and linux-image-5.2.8-antix.1
do pass the test without errors.The problem obviously only occurs with the 4.9 kernels.It’s not possible to open any webside in a browser, if ufw is enabled.
I tested only with 64bit , though.August 21, 2019 at 6:44 pm #26136Moderator

The amount of times this bug returns is truly become very old…. I am so in the habit of having no spaces that I always forget to test this. Is this error with the rox- options? Space- options? plain / min- options? All of the above?
I am hoping that it is only the rox options as that was recently modified for the mode options.

$ sudo ufw status ERROR: problem running iptables: iptables v1.8.2 (nf_tables): CHAIN_ADD failed (No such file or directory): chain INPUT(And completely blocked from internet.)
Rolling back to 4.19.66-antix.1-486-smp got me back to normal (having to re-enable ufw, but works great).

::Confirmed. This is due to some problem with the grub images you sent me.
“GRUB 2 can use PNG, JPG/JPEG and TGA images for the background.
However JPG/JPEG must be 8-bit (256 color).
And Images should be non-indexed, RGB”It’s my mistake because of …
I’ve seen, you wrote JPG only in Control Centre and wanted to provide you JPG’s, instead of PNG’s that I’m usually using myself.
PNG’s are on the their way … You don’t wanna see 8-bit “Lines”, trust me. 😉

::Main Menu – IceWM:
The new “Preferences” option in the main menu (a very nice addition):
Scalar & String: is that just informational or are settings supposed to be able to be changed from there?
