Hi, I am currently seeking a AntiX 19 iso which is completely bare, for me to install XFCE on. I was wondering if this was OK as the ISOs I have found are either ‘full’ or ‘base’, while I’d like to build from a minimal installation.
Thanks.

::Base is pretty minimal for a xfce build. Lacking antixcc and other /usr/local/bin stuff.

::I am fairly sure I tried out Base and it has a WM alongside a number of applications which I am unable to easily remove. netinstall would be lovely.
cheers

::I’m sure antiX will have a core & net ISO once it’s out of beta. Until then, the newest is version 17.4.1, based on Debian 9.x’

::Usually not long after beta3….I’d expect fairly soon, as there don’t seem to be many problems left to sort out.

::@R_92814an Be advised that the recommended procedure for building an xfce or other DE/WM variant on antiX is to use the base version of antiX not the Core version for Desktop builds (per @skidoo as my old memory recalls). To save you some time, I have written an antix19 draft set of scripts and instructions on building xfce and OpenBox variants. Feel free to use/ modify those. They are here:
https://eirenicon.org/knowledge-base/antix-openbox-xfce-respin/
I have also built a set of processes to create a BunsenLabs Lithium version of OpenBox on antiX19 that you may have, I plan on making those in revised form available once antix19 and BL Lithium repos are available. The prototype is here:
https://eirenicon.org/getting-bunsenlabs-lithium-to-run-on-mx19-antix19-a-journey/
Enjoy.
