Is there some guide on why one would (should) prefer using runit to sysVinit ??

          We’ve discussed https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/sysvinit-vs-runit/

          Does that help?

          Another “opinion”:

          and:

Both external references are from the same site (2020 and 2021). If you poke around that site they have reviews on several init alternatives.

Another reference (with a table) is at
              https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Comparison_of_init_systems
and an associated reference on the Gentoo site: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Runit

Wikipedia has information too, and you can search for other init references there too:
              https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Init#SYSV

I have been working on improving our version of runit. The present one works ok, (I have been running it on my main daily-driver laptop for well over a year without issues) but expect big positive changes in the future.
runit on antiX-21 (bullseye-based) will be much more like how it was meant to be (ie without sysvinit integration).
                Stay tuned!

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

                  Glad to hear it anti!

Runit has worked well for me, but I understand the previous limitations that you have overcome and I am looking forward to using runit.

Thanks for your excellent work as always.

Good news, runit (or s6/66) is much faster to start, especially for old PC with hdd.
And sysvinit is old now, and not too efficient.
