antiX-21 “Grup Yorum” Cloning and installing system

Hi there

I have an AMD laptop which has Antix working the way I need it to. I want to clone the AMD system and transfer it to an INTEL desktop.
So I need to use the ISO snapshot maker (default settings?) and the live USB maker. I noted that the AMD Linux Kernel is being included in the settings, will this update to the correct INTEL based kernal on the new system automatically? Are their other caveats I need to be aware of? Many thanks for your help in advance! 🙂

When I first started using antiX, I read the tutorials that PPC created, these readings saved me a lot of time and I think it saves time for any new antiX user. Your time will not be wasted with these readings, everything will seem to be much easier than you could imagine. You won’t waste your time searching the internet or even creating new topics, on the contrary, you will gain a lot of time with these readings.

I recommend you try out desktops that have “zzz” in their name. I usually use zzz-IceWM or zzz-JWM or zzz-Fluxbox (each of these desktops has its own characteristics and consumes more or less resources), zzzFM will be the default file manager for your desktop, it it is very similar to the other file managers of other GNU/Linux distributions and Windows XP. To access other antiX workspaces, click on Menu, Desktop, Other Desktops and click on the workspace name, instantly the workspace will be loaded.

Whenever you need to ask for help or technical support, post the output of the terminal command $ inxi -Fxz, copy and paste it in the message of the topic you are going to create in this forum.

When you start a topic or participate with a post, remember to check the option “Notify me of follow-up replies via email”, by checking this option, you will receive a message in your email box whenever there are replies from topic in question.

I started using ISO Snapshot recently, but I believe I can give you some tips. Access the Menu, Applications, antiX, ISO Snapshot so that you can create the ISO image of your system running on AMD, in one of the options that will appear in the graphical interface, choose the option “Resetting accounts (for distribution to others)” in English or “Redefinindo as contas e as senhas dos usuários root e demo (para distribuir a imagem ISO para outras pessoas)” in Brazilian Portuguese. I believe this option is the most suitable for antiX to work on other hardware. This was the option that @ensabahnur taught me for antiX 21 remaster with Kernel 4.4.0-296 and still be able to share it with other people and I imagine it includes for other hardware. I’m not sure if you use the option “Preserving accounts (for personal backup)” in English or “Preservar a(s) conta(s) do(s) usuário(s) (para cópia de segurança pessoal do Sistema Operacional)” in Brazilian Portuguese.

After the ISO is completed, use Live USB Maker to prepare the USB device with the new ISO.

I believe there will be no problem, but let us know if you are successful or not.

Quando eu comecei a utilizar o antiX, eu li os tutoriais que o PPC criou, estas leituras me pouparam muito do meu tempo e acho que poupa o tempo de qualquer novo usuário do antiX. O seu tempo não será perdido com estas leituras, tudo parecerá ser muito mais fácil do que você poderia imaginar. Você não perderá o seu tempo com pesquisas na internet ou até mesmo em criar novos tópicos, ao contrário, você ganhará muito tempo com estas leituras.

Eu recomendo você experimentar as áreas de trabalho que possuem “zzz” em seu nome. Eu costumo utilizar o zzz-IceWM ou zzz-JWM ou zzz-Fluxbox (cada uma destas áreas de trabalho possuem características próprias e consomem mais ou menos recursos), o zzzFM será o gerenciador de arquivos padrão da sua área de trabalho, ele é muito semelhante aos outros gerenciadores de arquivos das outras distribuições GNU/Linux e do Windows XP. Acesse o Menu, Aplicativos, antiX, ISO Snapshot para você poder criar a imagem ISO do seu sistema em execução no AMD, em uma das opções que surgirá na interface gráfica, escolha opção “Resetting accounts (for distribution to others)” em Inglês ou “Redefinindo as contas e as senhas dos usuários root e demo (para distribuir a imagem ISO para outras pessoas)” em Português do Brasil. Eu acredito que esta opção seja a mais adequada para o antiX funcionar em outros hardwares. Foi esta a opção que o @ensabahnur me ensinou para a remasterização do antiX 21 com o Kernel 4.4.0-296 e ainda poder compartilhar para as outras pessoas e imagino que inclui para os outros hardwares. Eu não tenho certeza se você utilizar a opção “Preserving accounts (for personal backup)” em Inglês ou “Preservar a(s) conta(s) do(s) usuário(s) (para cópia de segurança pessoal do Sistema Operacional)” em Português do Brasil.

amd64 is a format for 64 bit x86 computers. despite its name, its a common 64 bit kernel, not amd specific. there are boring historical reasons for this.
