::Thanks Brian for the info. Just to keep in mind, the browser malfunctioning on drop-down menus is only on first-started browser instance, when under IceWM. if browser is restarted, it behaves correctly since.
I will play with different themes. The IceWM theme I using now is a standard SunnyDay-Medium.
I think you pointed me to the actual impact of themes on how the system behaves, not just aesthetic role. Surprising as it is…
I am learning something new every day.
Thanks and Regards.- This reply was modified 1 year, 7 months ago by olsztyn.

::@olsztyn, which is the gtk theme you have switched to? Did you see if it also includes theme information for gtk3 (and not only for gtk2)? Maybe that is the issue, that the gtk theme you select only has compatibility with gtk2 and not gtk3. It would be interesting to figure this out and maybe remove the old gtk2-only themes if they are the reason for this issue (this is just speculation until we can confirm that this is really the reason).

The IceWM theme I am currently using is the standard SunnyDay-Medium. Adwaita Icon theme.
I will remaster with other themes and test to see if the issues exists with other themes.
Just to stress again, On IceWM the issue with browser drop-down menus is only on first browser start. After browser is restarted then drop-down menus do work. On Fluxbox the issue persisted through browser restarts.

Are the menus different on your side? Or am I confused and it isn’t the live boot menus but the applications?
Could you provide a bit more info? I think the internationalization of antiX is important, so any hint to shw us to reproduce the same issue you see will help.EDIT: OK now I see you mean the 3 menu items, and not the FX menus. That does need to be fixed.

Yes, indeed. I have done a few tests using various combinations of Widget themes Adwaita and Clearloks and Icon themes Adwaita, papyrus-mini-antix and ROX, remastering and rebooting so I can start browser fresh first-time after boot. So far I have not identified one theme combination that works for browser drop-down menus on first start.
Again to stress, this is very low priority issue as only affecting the chrome/Chromium browser (probably very small percentage of users), which browser is not provided in antiX by default (Firefox is the standard one).
Also, according to my experience the workaround that seems to work each time is to restart browser – quick and easy fix. This seems to work regardless which theme combination is used. This is on IceWM. On Fluxbox is is more of a problem but I would think it is a small market share.
Not to waste your precious time I suggest we put this issue to sleep, so as not to cause any concern of other users.
Thanks again and regards…- This reply was modified 1 year, 7 months ago by olsztyn.

Hi @olsztyn,
I use Chrome as my main browser. I use only the Rox-IceWM desktop. I switched to the SunnyDay-Medium desktop theme. But I cannot reproduce the issue that you have about the dropdown menus.
The Chrome version that I am using isVersion 94.0.4606.71 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Yes. Based on what Xecure determined the issue greatly depends on GTK theme installed. This would be seen and selected in Control Center—> Desktop Look and Feel.
So as I understand desktop theme has no impact.Live antiX Boot Options (Previously posted by Xecure):

So as I understand desktop theme has no impact.Hi @olszytyn,
I was able to reproduce these errors!!!
In the Rox-ICEWM desktop,
I went to Control Center > Desktop > Customize Look and Feel.
The default widget was Arc-EvoPro2. Then I clicked on icon-theme. The default was papirus-mini-antix. Then I chose Adwaita icon theme (the one that you had chosen).
Then I started google-chrome-stable and launched antixforum.com. I found out that the dropdown menu could NOT launch, even though I am able to see them.
Then I closed google-chrome-stable and started it again and launched antixforum.com again.
This time I can launch the items in the dropdown menu. This is exactly how you described.
Then I changed to the Rox-fluxbox desktop,
Then I started google-chrome-stable and launched antixforum.com. I found out that the dropdown menu could NOT launch, even though I am able to see them.
Then I closed google-chrome-stable and started it again and launched antixforum.com again.
Again, I CANNOT launch the items in the dropdown menu. This is also exactly how you described. The problem seems to be more severe in fluxbox than in icewm.
By the way, I am using antix21-b1-sysvinit (not B2) without any updates. I have only updated the kernels and the browsers, nothing else.
So, this problem was already present in B1 as well.

Exactly. You were able to reproduce this malfunctioning in every detail.
Unlike IceWM, For Fluxbox I have not found any workaround so far.
Thanks for your confirmation of this issue.

::Simple solution for now – don’t use Adwaita theme.
antiX uses a stripped down version of Adwaita adwaita-icon-them-antix.
What if you install the ‘proper’ version -adwaita-icon-theme?
Do other themes show the same issue?Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

Earlier I also tried various combinations of Clearlooks with ROX and Papyrus-antix icon themes and neither worked. Maybe Numix too, there were many tries so I may not recall exactly.
At this point I am not sure which themes actually work, but neither of those I tried.- This reply was modified 1 year, 7 months ago by olsztyn.
