antiX 23.1 x64 libre minimal respin 605 Mb CD

      libre kernel: 4.19.314-gnu1_4.19.314-gnu1-1.0_amd64
      Minimal firmware
      English only
      no headers
      no dkms

      Note:

If you have the USB wifi dongle that uses the ath6k driver, then you can use wifi right away without having to install any firmware.

      Download here:

      https://archive.org/details/anti-x-23.1-x-64-libre-minimal-605-mb-cd

      username: antix
      password: antix

If users want to add firmware, I have included firmware that users can copy to their /lib/firmware/ folder:

Edit: For those that are interested in using this iso, @andyprough suggests further improvements of this iso:

If you want to make it more truly “Libre”, then there’s a couple more steps you could take:
      1. ‘sudo apt purge packageinstaller-pkglist-nonfree’ – this will get the antiX Package Installer to stop recommending packages that report their licenses as being non-free
      2. Run the ‘vrms’ command (for “virtual Richard M Stallman”), and remove the non-free firmware packages that are reported. This will also have the effect of lightening the size of the ISO even further.

This is fantastic @calciumsodium – great work getting the ISO so small!

Most people who want to run a “Libre” distro won’t want these non-free packages on their installation anywway, so you shouldn’t get complaints and the machines will normally run great unless they need to get an Atheros wifi usb dongle that runs on the libre Atheros firmware that’s already in the kernel.

Of course, it’s your respin, so you can do it however you like, but that’s some of my steps from past Libre respins.

Great work – you got it smaller than I could, especially for a 64-bit version.

                Hello @j0ta,

I did not plan to make this libre respin with runit init.

If you want to make your own runit respin that is of small size, here are the directions:

                https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/antix-16-x64-respin-with-libreoffice-latest-google-chrome-v125-fits-in-cd/#post-142984

Here is the website to get the libre kernel that I used in this libre spin:

                https://linux-libre.fsfla.org/pub/linux-libre/freesh/

Thanks for the feedback on my libre respin and Good luck
