::Update:
Strange enough, all the deleted files are actually present in a folder e.g. /media/sda4/.Trash-1001 . Even those which where deleted with »Shift-Del« instead of „Del”. And also the files which failed to get saved to the trash folder in user’s home due to the symbolic link issue I described above are actually saved there. And along with the files there exists a second folder named „info”, full of textfiles of same name as the deleted ones with the extension .trashinfo, containing something like[Trash Info] Path=Arbeitsordner/Test/Testordner/testdatei6 DeletionDate=2023-02-11T10:22:02But none of those trashed files show up in the new trashbin in zzzFM. Another bug?

I agree with this, that the fonts should be matching. For a novice its not obvious why some programs use one font and other programs another font. Matching fonts makes more sense. Also, the /etc/environment file should be edited so that qt themes actually apply (I think it was missing a line break in both antiX 19 and 21).

You are doing a great job thoroughly testing the trash-can feature, seems its not “release ready” yet.February 11, 2023 at 8:03 pm #99396Forum Admin

Obviously, since it is an alpha release, it won’t be ‘release ready’ for several months yet.

::@sasa_ – there is a 6.1.10 kernel available if you want to try it.

::Antix 23, with kernel 5.10, I can’t even start, I get a green screen. When Kernel 6 arrives, then I’ll see if it works.

::Hallo anticapitalista, maybe going blind 😉 where can I find the series 6.1.10 kernel.
I can try and install it on thinkpad then remaster.
Not a help, on my system siduction boots and runs without issue as does sparky. Siduction 6 series kernel
Sparky with 5.10.Kernel 5.10 on antiX 22 and 23 Green screen crash, on older kernel antiX 23 same, tried some boot cheat code
I found in the net system gets further but still no successful boot.I have also been unable to install a debian kernel running live on a thinkpad always due rtl8821ce module install
fail. Need some hand holding there I guess.February 12, 2023 at 2:43 pm #99421Forum Admin

::It should have appeared in the antiX testing/sid repos
Here is a direct link: http://repo.antixlinux.com/testing/pool/main/l/linux-upstream/
Before you install, remove rtl8821ce-dkms and exfat-dkms.
Good luck 🙂

Kernel updated smoothly 6.1.10 after the removal of rtl8821ce-dkms
exfat module was not installed.Hopefully this will also run better on my friends Ryzen 8 core monster,
we noticed some odd slowdowns wth the older 5x kernel. Known problem.@ anticapitalista. Many thanks for the direct link to kernel,
maybe repos here were just slow to synch.February 12, 2023 at 10:26 pm #99467Forum Admin

::Re 6.1 kernel – good news is that it seems to work ‘better’ for some hardware where 5.10 was problematic.
Playing video seemed to be very smooth.
The ‘bad’ news is that it is significantly more RAM (but not CPU) intensive.I compared 5.10 kernel and 6.1.11 kernel on antiX22 (bullseye) and found the 6.1 kernel to leak memory.
Initial boot RAM is slightly higher than the 5.10 ie about 4 MB higher.
BUT after a few minutes of use, it jumps to being 30 MB higher.Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

Sorry for my ignorance, but where is the 6.1.11 kernel located? Can’t find it neither in the apt listings of antiX 23 nor following your above direct link. Only 6.1.10 kernel seems to be available for me. What am I missing here?

This finally fixed the issue I had with apt constantly retrying to build the kernel anew when any other package was to be installed, so now apt is normally usable again.
