      Hi olsztyn,

I just booted my live usb of the antix-23 alpha and I still don’t see Pipewire included in the package installer.

Was there a second release of the alpha? My version was downloaded 4 Feb 23.

I am ignorant about the antiX-23 Sid/bookworm version; I didn’t realize there are two versions of the antiX-23 alpha.

I would like to try that one; a pointer to the iso would be appreciated.

Parenthetically, have you tried running a YouTube music video on the alpha? It worked fine, but stopped when I switched to another page on the browser. That doesn’t happen in my old Sid install on my Fujitsu. Don’t know if it is specific to the difference in hardware or to the software or…

        Hi Stevesr0…

The antiX 23 Alpha version I have is pretty much unmodified, except adding a WM and cosmetics.
        – I have downloaded relatively shortly after released by anticapitalista.
However I performed complete update. I definitely see Pipewire among Package Installer in Audio section. Installation via Package Installer appears to work fine. And it is reflected in Package Installer as grayed out after the installation. Repositories of my antiX Alpha are unmodified from the the original.
        – antiX 23 SID/Bookworm is taking the update of such antiX 23 above, to SID level on antiX side and to Unstable on Debian side, where antiX SID level packages modified by anticapitalista supersede those from Debian. So Updated to the latest SID versions, but ensuring antiX specific version priority. E.g. if system-config-printer is on antiX side 1.5.16-1.0nosystemd1, this is not to be overlaid with the latest Debian version 1.5.18-1.

This way I have two versions of antiX 23 Alpha for testing:
        – The original as provided by anticapitalista
        – More advanced in time antiX 23 SID/Debian Unstable version, which includes various updates not yet in the original antiX 23 Alpha.

I hope this explains, assuming I was clear on this process…
