Package rofi has no available version, but exists in the database.
This typically means that the package was mentioned in a dependency and never uploaded, has been made obsolete or is not available with the contents of sources.list

If try to install rofi i get and error. (libxcb-util0-dev 04.0+b1 is installed.)

Given that the SLiM login screen contains no clickable elements,
and the mouse cursor is hidden while the SLiM login screen is displayed…
the login screen graphics should not display a pseudo “Login” button.

check it firsthand ~~ here’s the code for SLiM’s XEvent event polling loop.
It only reacts to OnExpose and KeyPress events (IOW, it ignores ButtonPress, MotionNotify, et al)

          ps:

          On a related note

At the SLiM screen (applies to antiX19 also, not specific to the alpha)
type “exit” (noquotes) as the username and press Enter.

User is delivered to a shell prompt, already logged in as root.
Isn’t that adorable? (nobody else notices, nobody else seems to care)

Ouch, did not notice that “feature”. I have noticed that typing shutdown in the login box does not shutdown the computer.
Does it also work in a remote (vnc) connection to slim?

Along with this; though perhaps not as problematic due to the single user environment…
Is it still possible to add a “1” to grub linux line and receive a root prompt without a password?

The door is a standard Login icon.

I bet I could find a down and to the left arrow icon that looks like the symbol on many Enter keys if you prefer that?

why repaint that superfluous? is it a placeholder?

Yes a reference to the enter key is good.

I tried this what is the purpose, if you want to reboot or shut down from slim, just as easy to go to tty and type sudo reboot or sudo halt (ctrl + alt + F1) tty

By the way is it a door or an open folder which opens more possibility’s. If its a door it needs a knob. lol

Sorry, I seriously wasn’t aware of that. In fact, it reminds me of the “logout” icon displayed on (Xfce?) traybar-resident widget. Maybe (idunno) the same is also displayed as sessionchooser icon on the LightDM or other widely-used login manager screen.

Well, the name of it was “login.png” I think, but I am no expert, was just trying to avoid the language issues of only having it in English, and could change it to any Icon folks wanted. I am more concerned with the functionality based on Koo’s comment than the icon pic.

There is something wrong with polkit authentication , gksu or something.
Being lazy with disk management tried to install disk-manager and the below is what I get from synaptic. Then installed gnome-disk-utility it installed fine but won’t open the authentication dialog box, can’t edit disk mount option as per error below.

I have been able to edit the fstab file by using sudo geany, but edit this file as root with spacefm opens nothing and geany is set to root editor.

                          Won’t install

                          disk-manager:

Package disk-manager has no available version, but exists in the database.

Both of these drives now auto mount at startup with manual editing and sudo geany. sdb2 and sdc2

Sorry I broke the rules of this post, will wait for the version to move up from alpha before posting any more. Don’t worry about disk-manager I can live without it no biggie. Was just trying to point out the polkit or authentication side of things more then the program itself. Thanks for the advice.
