I was thinking that it might be useful and handy to have a USB wifi adapter on my keychain (in addition to Antix/MX on another stick). You never know if the computer you might plug Antix/Mx into may have problems with the wifi chipset in it (if it has one, though most of the time its fine). Or, maybe it’s wired but on a wired network you don’t want to access the internet through and would rather use wifi.

I found a nice cheap TP-Link itty bitty wifi adapter, it works great with Antix/MX but there is no way to attach it to the keychain.

Anybody else try to take a wifi USB stick and put it on their keychain?

Maybe find some sort of capsule that can hold it that also has a fastener?

Some USB devices have an end that appears to be able to connect to a keychain. Not sure how many models would be sufficiently durable to carry around without some type of protective enclosure.

I like the suggestion from BobC if there is some kind of protective “capsule” or “enclosure”. If so, even putting it in a pocket would be safer, but a capsule that can be attacked to a keychain or FOB would be very handy indeed.

I found 1 at WalMart, though it’s not exactly what was requested:

            hi Danathar,

the usb … SMC EZ Connect g SMCWUSB-G – network adapter uses the
zd1211rw driver and works great with linux also but would need a
protective case for a keychain. seems not many have a way without
drilling 3/32″ or 2.5mm hole and putting a small ring on them.
