i get “waiting for /dev to be fully populated” 95% of the time when trying to install antiX core and cant get past it, when it does work (the screen seems a lot more zoomed in when it works, one time manually set resolution to 1600×900 instead of 1600×1200 that it was set it and it worked?) i get to installing packages it says something about many being missing and to update, i do enter to update and it does its thing then keeps prompting over and over again. it says something about missing stuff when trying to setup localization, keyboard, etc, then when i get to the password it floods the screen with “chroot: failed to run commands ‘passwd’ : No such file or directory” along with some other red text about password not being identical. i tried many many different times putting it on my usb over and over and tried net version which also had the same issues. installed antiX full with zero issues but i want the core version. I have a thinkpad E431, it has i5 3230m and 1600×900 screen. 16gb ram and 512gb ssd.

Please execute ‘inxi -zv7’ and either attach as a file (inxi -zv7 > inxi-output.txt) or copy and past between single apostrophes (code format).

Edit the boot entry and delete the “splash” argument. I have no idea of the why but I have the same issue on 25 to 30% of my computers.

On the display resolution, if this is during install, I ignore it as long as I can see the install dialog. After installation, I will work on ensuring the display adapter, kernel, and display driver are a good match.

Providing the inxi output will help us better help you.
