      Hello,

      I am using AntiX 19.4 – 64 Bit, with icewm with the theme Blue-Day-Small.

      I want to change the font of the ‘CPUStatusShowAcpiTempInGraph’. It is too big and I want it a bit smaller to better fit inside the cpu statusbar at the bottom right of my taskbar.

      I looked in:

      .icewm/prefoverrides
      .icewm/preferences
      /usr/share/icewm/themes/BlueDay-Small/default-theme
      /etc/X11/icewm

      I tried the following lines:

      QuickSwitchFontNameXft = “ubuntu:size=7,Sans:size=6″
      Name of the status display font.
      StatusFontNameXft=”monospace:size=5:bold”
      StatusFontName=”-*-monospace-bold-r-*-*-*-20-*-*-*-*-*-*”

      Also tried ‘Look and feel’ and ‘Qt5 settings’.

      I managed to change pretty much every thing I wanted from font size, title bar height, keys, etc. The only thing I can’t is to change the size (or type) of the font in CPUStatusShowAcpiTempInGraph. I can’t find an option to manipulate.

      Ideas and thoughts about this issue are welcomed.

      Also, is there any other way to have my cpu temperature on my taskbar? I remember back on the Lubuntu 15 days to have that feature.

      Thanks.

        It is a hard question, not immediately clear from reading https://ice-wm.org/man/icewm-preferences.html

        After looking at the code acpustatus.cc gonna suggest you try adjusting these lines in conf. Hey, might neeed to add these lines if not already in your conf.

        TmpFontName=”-*-monospace-medium-r-*-*-*-140-*-*-*-*-*-*
        TempFontNameXft=”monospace:size=12

          You might find the kcolorchooser package useful for this.

          Try this in ~/.icewm/prefoverride

          # Show ACPI temperature in CPU status bar
          CPUStatusShowAcpiTempInGraph=1 # 0/1

          #  Temperature of the CPU
          ColorCPUStatusTemp="rgb:DF/7F/FF"

          # ACPI temp font
          TmpFontName=”-*-monospace-medium-r-*-*-*-140-*-*-*-*-*-*”
          TempFontNameXft=”monospace:size=7”

            Thank you iznit, and thank you BobC for your answers. They worked!
            Now, if I can only get rid of that dot, and center the temperature inside the ‘CPU status bar’ it would be great.

            I’ve notice BobC ‘CPU status bar’ is very neat, meaning, temperature is center aligned inside ‘CPU status bar’ and doesn’t show a dot after the temperature numbers like mine does. Please check the image I’ve attached for better understanding what I’m saying.

            Any way to get rid of the dot, and center align the temp, inside the ‘CPU status bar’?

            One final question. How on earth does Bobc machine is 37⁰ degrees? Is there any secret to have so low temperature? I want that 🙂

            Thanks

              If you notice, my monitor graph windows are not as wide as yours. I have mine thin so that I can have up to 50 Apps on my toolbar, which is all of the programs I use. That is so I almost never need to look on the menus to launch programs.

              I look, I hover and click, and it runs.

              From ~/.icewm/prefoverride

              # The width of the CPU Monitor applet in pixels
              # TaskBarCPUSamples=20 # [2-1000]

              # The width of the Memory Monitor applet in pixels
              # TaskBarMEMSamples=20 # [2-1000]

              # Delay between Memory Monitor samples in ms
              # TaskBarMEMDelay=500 # [10-3600000]

              # The width of the Net Monitor applet in pixels
              # TaskBarNetSamples=20 # [2-1000]

              # Delay between Net Monitor samples in ms
              # TaskBarNetDelay=500 # [10-3600000]

              # default number of tasks in taskbar
              # TaskbarButtonWidthDivisor=3 # [1-25]

              # Task bar width as percentage of the screen width
              # TaskBarWidthPercentage=100 # [0-100]

              # Taskbar justify left, right or center
              # TaskBarJustify="left"

              #  Width of battery Monitor
              # TaskBarApmGraphWidth=10 # [1-1000]

                Better to start a new thread to figure out CPU Temp/cooling.

                Please give details of your hardware, unless the system is working hard 50 C is quite high.
                Please also give ambient temperature in the hardware location. That because the higher the
                temperature of air for cooling the less heat transferred away from components.

                In a recent heatwave, ambient 38C I saw CPU temps 42 plus, now CPU is at at around 30C.
                Air temperature is about 18C.
