      Hi guys,

I’m really interested to promote Antix as my main Linux distribution.
      My questions:
      – could Antix be considered as a distribution for Software Developer? I mean, I need Docker setup, PyCharm IDE, Postman tool… some developer tools
      – does someone use Antix as a developer distribution?

      thank you in advance.
      Cheers,
      Maurizio

        Hi,

antiX can be used by a SW developer.
Depends on the needs; e.g. if most of the services are run/developed on Virtual Machines, “all” you need is a working SSH.
Regarding IDE: VSCodium DEB package can be manually downloaded and installed in antiX (it worked for me, I believe I had troubles with one version but another worked); there is a vim-plugin ALE and others than enhance it to an IDE, see e.g. https://vim.fandom.com/wiki/Use_Vim_like_an_IDE

I would assume that many/most of your requirements can be dealt with with manually downloaded packages or those in the repositories.
I have no other advice than: Try and see for yourself.
