@rokytnji I’d love to see you in action as a basketball forward, a football linebacker or tight end, but I think you and I are now at or near retirement age, so maybe that’s just an idea or a dream!

I always appreciated people who would stand up for others.
One of my friends felt that he was a bully when he was younger.
I said, “If you were a bully, you never showed that behavior around me;
we always were kind and took care of one another”.

In my case, the other person was the strong one, I was the “smart one”,
but when you’re kind to one another, we can all live in harmony,
just like Paul MCCartney and Stevie Wonder – “Ebony and Ivory” –
live together in perfect harmony, side by side on my piano
keyboard, “Why can’t we?”

Sometimes good music sets a good example for us all!

I’m a bit in doubt whether it will be understood properly, at least in Germany (probably in many European countries) the proud woke is historically connotated with nationalsocialistic (NS) ideology and Third Reich. The Nazis always swaggered about „Deutschland erwache!” of the proud racist German „Volksgemeinschaft” and do this again these days. I wouldn’t like to see antiX perceived by people as something supporting this NS-Ideology. So I consider your preference is at least a bit problematic, but if you feel it being the right wording, I won’t object. It’s your decision.

I like Robin live in a country with disgusting history and its uprising continuation.
Woke would not fit here inviting to NS boneheads..

It is a Black American Term and probably poorly understood by many.

maybe Antifaschist Antiracist Anti Discrimination.

Thanks for the feedback on ‘woke’.
The term ‘woke’ in English was originally Black American as Xunzi_23 says and basically referred to ‘awakening’ from racial prejudice.
Now, the far right have stolen this word for their own ends
They won’t admit it but their attacks on woke are bigoted, racist, misogynistic and homophobic.
antiX represents exactly the opposite.

re- Alexei Navalny.
Another very brave individual fighting against Putin’s tyranny.
However, Navalny is pro-capitalist and a Nationalist and had supported demonstrations against immigrants – things that antiX is 100% opposed to.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

For me woke stands for social awareness (in a comprehensive sense), so ‘Proudly Woke’ fits to antiX.
Edit: didn’t see anti’s post.I too had a slight smack at Alexei Navalny(I always have).

I’m content with whatever anticapitalista chooses to name his works. It’s always been an eye opener for me. I appreciate what he stands for in software and in life so I consistently support antiX, period.

I originally came to antiX because I needed a lightweight linux distro for an old laptop that had WinXP on it. I quickly learned about the anti-fascist stance & became even more interested in the project/community!! It now runs on my main desktop as well as my laptops. I learned about config file customization by running an Arch/i3 setup that was good, but a tad too tedious for me. I also credit @Stæmpunk & his amazing antiX customization video, which he, myself & I think at least one other person have posted here.

Anyways, keep up the good work & keep on fighting the good fight!!!

Even though I have used antiX since the very beginning, at first the additional reasons for the project names did not resonate with me; not that I differed about it, simply used it because I was interested in light distributions that could run from removable devices and also run completely in memory.

Over time I did read about the things that mattered to our founder and gained additional respect for his interests.

Thank you anticapitalista for making an excellent distribution and for raising matters that are not always appreciated immediately. I want you to know that whether I agree with you or not I have great respect. However I have also appreciated what you practice and what you believe because we’re both interested in the well being of people ahead of the wealth and power of the elite.

Thanks everybody for the replies, it is really helpfull and I believe many people recognize themself in this. I also learned a lot about Antix. Antix is much more then an OS, it is almost a way of living if I read some posts.
