where does antix-19 store files relevant to users located in Russia, China, Italy etc ?
Obviously these users need translations of the antiX user interface.
Does the antiX installer only install files related to the user’s language selection or
does it install files related to lots of languages ?
One thing is translations for programs. If available, they install with the program.
Another thing is language for the system (like terminal outputs, messages, etc). Those are handled in the debian system by the selected locale (language selected during installation).
To change the whole system’s language, one can follow any of the posts related to that in the forum (the latest is here).
The last thing is the translation for the window manager menus. If you are changing language after installing, the best option is creating a new user so that all translated menus are loaded.
About your specific question, antiX language files are located in /usr/share/antiX/localization/
One can see how complete the translation for each language is in the transifex site: https://www.transifex.com/anticapitalista/antix-development/
(I think this applies for both antiX and MX, that both share the same translation team, fantastic people by the way).
For each application, there is a locale main folder (though some programs store their translations in their main folder).
I hope this helps.
