This is a desktop Compaq presario that came with winXP originally. not a notebook/laptop.
It did install and run at full resolution on install.
I really didn’t have to to much other than stated to get it going. I still can’t
get the onboard audio to work on it. But that is a hardware, not an antiX one.issue as doesn’t work on antiX 17-19, or 21.
Each computer is different on getting up and running.

can you post the output of this as a txt attachment or a screenshot of the system?

Ydek, thanks for starting this thread. I am watching and hope that we can also use antiX 21 on computers that have a SIS or Via video card.
For now, all computers that have these video cards are benefiting from the pseudo-antiX-19-legacy-bet3_x64.iso ISO created by Xecure and I only use the pseudo-antiX-19-legacy-bet3_386.iso ISO when using the processor is 32 bits.

Further to those chipsets more and more I see and hear from users with NVidia legacy hardware having graphics
issues on open drivers with antix21.

Ideal situation for be a legacy graphics support spin, if feasible. My efforts for NVidia have up to now failed,
seems I miss some important detail..

            Debian 11 only supports nvidia-legacy-390xx.
antiX-21 has legacy-340xx in its repo.
For older cards, users should stick to antiX-19.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

                Hi Marcelo.

I also have this hope, in Brazil we still have computers and notebooks with SiS and Via.
The Iso created by Xecure is already a great help.

Someone claims to have got it to work on Debian 11 by using a script.

Looking at the script. Our xorgs are just a little newer.xorg 120.11.

Wondering if just using lines 18 through 20 would suffice out of that script.

Reading further comments. Seems to work with just the 3 lines used.

The screenshots show n/a or none for the driver on it. and llvmpipe as the GL.

The vesa works ok on mine, I haven’t got any of the sis drivers to work yet.
the reason I asked for the inxi -Fxz was so we can see which motherboards and bios work on it.

Thanks for the tip of the link, i had already tried this script but it didn’t work for model Chipset SiS 661/741/760, it only works for model SiS 771/671.

It does run antiX-21-runit live iso at 1280×1024 resolution just fine on the vesa driver.
I deleted everything off of the boot line and hit enter.
I also had to use arandr to set the screen size.
The vesa driver actually goes up to 1600×1200 but my monitor don’t.
attached a screenshot of the hardware.

I tried it in live mode with antiX and deleted the parameters on the boot line but it didn’t work.

inxi -Fxz was so we can see which motherboards and bios work on it, can others as well so we know which work and don’t
                              on the different drivers..

Hi ydek, thanks for posting this … that way others can compare hardware revisions and results.
It looks like it has the latest bios from a quick search. It’s using the vesa but not very well.
                                  1. Was there any choices in arandr for resolution at all? to eliminate a monitor issue.
                                  2. Is there bios settings for the video? I’m not familiar with the American Megatrends one.
                                  3. can you attach these as a txt attachment to a post. I’ll upload mine later as well. This will tell
everyone what Xorg is seeing and loading or not loading.
