      Hi anticapitalista,

Have signed up with the forum after learning about antix experimenting with runit.

With Debian now seeming to cement all their efforts around systemd, will antix be moving toward alternate init systems like runit?

If so, will we see a full release of antix using runit in the future?

Look forward to your feedback and any additional thoughts about antix moving forward.

        Welcome!

At the moment antiX will stick with sysvinit, but we’ll probably start shipping some iso files with runit.
Note the Debian and hence antiX version of runit requires sysvinit scripts, since neither Debian nor antiX provides ‘pure’
runit ones unlike void linux and artix. Simply using their scripts does not work on a Debian based system.

The only other alternate init system I would consider is S6, but that doesn’t work very well on antiX via the Debian version of S6.
However, it does work according to this post.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

I have been running antiX-19-runit_x64-base.iso scene its release and I prefer the base version now myself. Works Great

Their are only two thing I wish could be fixed my scanner to work with out sudo and phone connect for file transfers in thunar. Both work fine with MX-19.

[shameless plug]As folks may have noticed in my earlier post, I’d be simply happy with a guide on how-to convert the regular antiX19.1 (Base preferred) to sid. [/shameless plug]
