Here’s a shot of my presario 2200 laptop with the new kernel 4.19.8.
Also for anyone with the intel M cpu…the pentium-M chip supports
pae kernel and the celeron-M does not. I also updated my d610 to the
new 4.19.8 and both run great….ie everything hardware wise works.
They are both antix-base strech repos with the kernel manually
    selected.

It even gained some extra usability through more contrast, improved fonts, clearer icons and reduced menu clutter.

I just installed the 17.3.1 on one of my desktops with a separate boot
partition and the root is setup with encryption and the new 420 kernel.

I didn’t know xfce could take so little memory ( less than 200mb ) …
is that the default theme? Last time that
I installed xfce it had looked old-school when I first booted.

It is antiX-core (32 bit) with xfce added and a lot of tinkering (can’t remember exactly what I did).
There isn’t much included, I did this for 2 reasons.

    1. An experiment to see what a ‘light’ antiX-xfce would look like and how it would run.

    2. I use this install for stretch 32 bit kernel builds and any other debs that may need building and when pbuilder errors.

Never messed with core…only base and full, but I’ve also been migrating to
64-bit as my 2 laptops are the only 32-bit ones setup right now. donations people were tossing.
I have 32-bit xp/vista pcs I can setup to test on. but..they just collect dust at the moment.
For me xfce never seems to work right.
IE duplicated menu items and login/logout issues.
I’ll stick to icewm and fluxbox for now.

    anticapitalista,

Are you considering putting an option for “antiX-xfce frugal” in antiX 19? I hope so, it looks like it would be a really nice addition for the Full version (probably wouldn’t fit in the Base version on a CD).
