I tried many Linux distributions, particularly those efficiently designed (Not damaged by inherent in design useless bloat). Those included very popular Mint, Peppermint, variety of Ubuntu derivatives and some others on the extra efficient modular side like TinyCore, SliTaz, etc…
Then after many years I came across AntiX. After playing a lot, testing and customizing I can say now AntiX is the best of all IMHO.
– Most customizable (Live, Remaster, etc.)
– Efficient – Minimal memory use
– Not restricted in architecture
– Persistence architecture the best of all
After much testing it becomes my main and possibly only Linux now.
Thank you anticapitalista and development team for this masterpiece. It needs better fonts/rendition though. Current ones are sorely rough…Currently 17.2 HH on several USBs:
– Space Fluxbox
– Google Chrome
– VMware Horizon
– …Francis.

::Welcome to antiX and thanks for your comments.
Any suggestions on how to improve fonts/rendition?

::I have no idea how to do it but I am confident AntiX developers do know. Having developed such a masterpiece fonts must a piece of cake…
Currently on desktop they are rough unless you increase font size sufficiently to cover this roughness. Quite different font quality than in in Mint for example.
Might be that Debian is not meant to be font friendly.Live antiX Boot Options (Previously posted by Xecure):

Might be that Debian is not meant to be font friendly. You do have to download additional fonts to get the best possible experience; we do have a decent selection, but the Debian Repo and other sources do have additional fonts that might provide a superior display experience for some people. There are lots of articles (and a good search engine will have a lot of information. I usually download fonts that were originally developed for use on systems used by Microsoft; they are freely available for download, so I often use them.

::Thanks for the info. After I download additional fonts where do I place them and set desktop to use them? I apologize if this is something I should know as a user…
It would be nice if AntiX used better quality fonts by default, this would further enhance visual experience out of the box. This is a fantastic system absolutely the best in my opinion and a little more esthetics would not hurt.
And just to be more precise speaking of fonts: The ones on Fluxbox menues are OK. Just these on desktop, such as under icons and Konky are not good, particularly on dark backgrounds such as AntiX-galaxy ones.Live antiX Boot Options (Previously posted by Xecure):

::Your own fonts belong in ~/.fonts
Fonts for the whole system, including other users go to /usr/share/fonts

We are open to ideas.… I have one idea but, I’ll start another thread, since I don’t think that it fits in this post.
