      Hey everyone!

I am really grateful for all the help you have given me in the past. I have a major problem. I came home one day to a blank screen. When I restarted the computer, it seemed to boot normally (splash screen, etc) until the login where it stopped. It normally automatically logs me in.

When I entered my login name and password, I got a message telling me the last time a logged in and the strange message “you have no mail” followed by my $ prompt.

I have partitioned antix with a root, a swap, and a home directory. Luckily, none of my personal files have been corrupted.

I lam currently running antix 21 on my 32 bit system off of a flash drive with persistence. I have tried boot repair, with no effect.

Can you help me to: (1) Repair my existing Antix 19 installation so that it boots all the way OR (2) tell me how to install antix 21 on my existing partition so that I DON’T lose my existing home partition and personal data/files? I have started the installation process, but have exited out, unsure whether to check “home directory” in the custom install option.

      Thank you so much!

      Hern

        Regarding installing antiX 21:

There should be the option to “preserve /home”.

Do you have another computer on which you can boot this flash drive? If it boots up to your live system, perhaps you can copy your files to that computer (or another USB drive)?
