Hello !
Is there currently a version AntiX that can be loaded into RAM?
I would like the distribution kit to weigh as little as possible!
For these purposes!
I have 4GB of RAM!
I know that the basic version can be loaded into RAM, but does it still weigh quite a lot?
Should we expect a version in the future for people who want to run OS from RAM?
Why do I need it?
Well, I don’t have a ssd disk, only hdd!
And what about RAM, anyway faster than hdd?
Or, tell me, how can you “cut” AntiX so that the weight is as small as possible?Does RAM give better performance?
That’s why I want to use it in this way!
I need the very minimum of programs1) pulse audio
2) video player (celluloid/smplayer)
3) viewinor
4) thunar
5) flameshot
i know about pappy – linux!
, but I would like an antix!! (antix easy work, easy install soft)January 2, 2022 at 11:54 am #74423Forum Admin

::Already asked and replied to.
Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

::There is lots of discussion on these topics already in the forums. Please use the search feature on the front page of this forum. There is an advanced search page that is helpful. or use Google, DuckDuckGo, Startpage, etc.
We are willing to help but we won’t do all the work for you. Start with searches and then ask questions.

::This has been part of antiX for so long, and discussed so many times, that I fully understand why people are tired of rehashing it again.
I found myself thinking about it again, though, and I thought I’d at least point you in the right direction.https://antixlinux.com/the-most-extensive-live-usb-on-the-planet/
This is on the front page of antixlinux.com. The toRAM option is a part of the live system (CD/USB/frugal-from-hard-drive/SSD).
Reading this article, you could take the base ISO (again, from live-usb, for example), and choose the “toram” option from the pre-configurable boot codes, to try it out.The base ISO is (what?) about 800 MB or so. This will get copied to RAM, and then you’ll be able to test it out quickly.
There is much more to it, with many options, but those are tied to your configuration of the live system. You’ll have to play with it. But start there & see where it takes you…
confirmed antiX frugaler, since 2019
