Hi folks again, after few months I’m asking again is there a simplified method to start Antix21 on a secere boot modern laptop.
Asking You because I’m using a locked and full of spy software corporate laptop on the daily basis. Antix is the freedom for me. I’m a bit surprised and worried the little piece of freedom disappered with Antix21. My previous post here

but both options failed. Best Regards Tomasz

There isn’t. Use antiX-19 since in that other thread you say it does what you want it to do.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

This is one thing that antiX doesn’t have. I mentioned in a post yesterday that different distributions have different features.

If you want and need a super security oriented distribution, I can tell you that Fedora 35 certainly meets that need, but it comes at considerable cost – a LOT OF OVERHEAD! On one hand it is a stable, capable distribution and it’s right on as a secure server distribution. The price of this security is interactive performance. I don’t think it would work well at all on an old system.

On the other hand antiX works beautifully on old hardware but it’s designed for interactive use and for individual people rather than a community or company server. You may be able to add software to turn antiX into whatever you want, but here’s the thing with Linux: if you look around you can find something that works best for a number of different situations and use cases. You can get most anything to do what you want IF you alter it, but there are already hundreds of variations that suit specific details well.

Our antiX is quite flexible and it can be customized, especially if you choose antiX Core. I’m therefore not speaking against what we offer. Instead I am a big proponent of what we have and what we do. You can indeed create many very useful use cases with our various offerings and I encourage you to try them. If you are not someone who experiments and customizes we do still have four appealing alternatives. They’re GREAT with aging systems. You may be able to use them for much more, but then it’s increasingly likely that you may have to tinker the configuration to get precisely what you want, and that’s why I mentioned that there are a lot of other great Linux options.
