      I also want to change the default file manager to anything other than this but I tried but couldn’t.

      What did you try?
      You visited controlCenter and ran the (i don’t recall the exact description) “set preferred applications” utility?
      That utility might not take care of revising the desktop menu entries
      ~/.icewm/menu
      Find the line mentioning File Manager, and hand edit it so that it will launch spacefm (or other) instead of rox-filer.
      (You’re also free to change the menu labeltext to something other than “File Manager”)
